The wedding was... well,

It was exactly what Sonya and Lookmhee had expected—a quick, small, and straightforward ceremony. No elaborate décor, no string quartets, no teary-eyed guests filling a grand ballroom.

Just a handful of witnesses, a small room, and a basic arch with flowers. They'd chosen simplicity for a reason: Sonya had her own plans to get back to in Bali, and Lookmhee was itching to dive back into her projects.

But still, there was that moment, standing across from each other as the officiant read the vows. Lookmhee was all business, holding her bouquet with one hand and adjusting her suit sleeve with the other, while Sonya couldn't help but fidget a little.

For a brief second, Lookmhee wondered if Sonya was nervous—or worse, if she was regretting this whole thing.

"Alright," the officiant announced, clearly eager to move things along as much as they were, "you may now kiss the bride."

They looked at each other, a little caught off guard. Sonya's eyes widened slightly, and Lookmhee hesitated for a fraction of a second. But they both knew they had to sell this, so Sonya leaned in first, her lips brushing Lookmhee's.

When they broke apart, there was polite applause from the few attendees. Sonya slipped her arm around Lookmhee's waist for a quick photo op, and they made their way out with as much poise as they could muster.

Lookmhee caught herself sneaking glances at her bride. In that simple white dress, Sonya looked nothing short of angelic, with her hair softly framing her face, eyes glimmering with excitement and nerves. The way she looked, standing there with the slight hint of a smile, almost made Lookmhee forget this was all just an act.

Despite herself, Her grip around Sonya's waist tightened slightly, and Sonya played along, resting her head on Lookmhee's shoulder, laughing softly, though the laughter was purely for show.

The guests smiled, murmuring their approval. Lookmhee caught a few lingering stares and felt her protective instincts kick in, holding her wife close as if daring anyone to question it. She was surprised by how natural it felt, and Sonya, sensing the act was going well, leaned into it with a light laugh, as if they'd been a couple for years.
