Anyone would scream if they saw a vampire in their room in the middle of the night.

Not Lucien tho.

The first time he saw Darcy break into his room he was thrilled.

By thrilled, we mean weirdly invested and enthusiastic to meet a vampire.

So he let her suck his blood whenever she came to his room after that because Darcy wasn't a rough vampire. She may've been a vampire but she was actually gentle and sweet; quite the opposite to what movies portray them to be.

There was one thing Lucien didn't understand however—

Why did Darcy always run away when the moon comes into her sight?

He thought vampires were supposed to love the moon.

Was it not the sun that they were afraid of?

Speaking of which, the said vampire climbed through the window pane once as if she practically lived there now.

Lucien shut his book, not bothering to turn on any lights; that's the way he liked it.

He hadn't seen her face properly before but at times he would get a glimpse of it from the glow of the night sky outside. He liked the vibe of her being a mystery.

He grinned.

"You don't even wait for me to say come in anymore."

Darcy rubbed the back of her neck, her gaze away from him momentarily, "I mean- should I? I'm sorry if I'm making it seem like I'm invading your personal sp-"

"It was a joke Darcy. Don't you get jokes by now?" He chuckled, cutting the 'cute' vampire off.

"Oh? Oh! That's my bad. I'm sorry." She shook her head, putting her palm to her face. "I guess my hunger is getting the best of me. I can't think since my stomach is empty."

Lucien grinned. He loved being her blood bag. It might sound weird but he loved the feeling of her fangs digging down in his neck.

"Let's fill it up then. I know that's what you're here for anyways." He stood up from the bed, walking towards her.

She brushed her hair out of her face. She still didn't know how to manage the hair she had as a vampire, she just knew that it always moved and at times that could get annoying. It was a deficiency her mother had told her.

He looked down at her as he was slightly taller before tilting his neck to the side.

"Go on. Take as much as you need."

She nodded vigorously before taking a step towards him.

Her eyes glowed to be a shade of orange as her fangs slowly stretched out to meet his neck and pierce the skin. If you ask Darcy this part was always the hardest before the high of satisfactory she would experience. Maybe because she hadn't been doing this for long. Lucien was the only human she ever took blood from and she liked it so she stuck to him.

He held her waist.

Don't be alarmed. This is their nightly routine.

"Ah." Lucien sighed in satisfactory as he felt the sharp objects go into his skin; same spot every-time.

Darcy started licking the red liquid hungrily.

She held the other side of his neck tightly, wondering how come he handles this so well every time. She always thought he just had a kink for pain so she ignored it.

The girl took his blood into her mouth for a few minutes before retracting.

"Thank y— I'm so sorry but I gotta go."

The moon started going towards the window, full, large, bright, causing Darcy to shake. This time however, the moon took a shade of blood red. That caused Darcy to panic. That's even worst.

She was about to rush off but before she could she felt a strong grip on her wrist.

She whipped her head around back to Lucien.

"Lucien let go. I really have to go." She pleaded.

His eyes were dark and hooded. That sent her into confusion and even more panic.

She tried to pull her hand back but he wouldn't budge.

'Since when did he get so strong?' She thought to herself.

"No. Stay." He demanded, his voice heavy from the unusual tone he had. Dare she say...scary?

"What?..." she looked up to see his eyes glowing a bright shade of blue.

Her eyes widened.

"Lucien?!" She panicked.

She didn't do the ritual to turn him into a vampire so how?

"Why are you always in a rush?" He growled.

She whimpered in pain. How could she feel pain? Oh right, he's possibly a vampire too?

"You're hurting me." She cried.

"Good."

"Good?"

Lucien rolled his eyes.

"You're so naive. I don't know how you didn't realize until now."

She raised her eyebrows, still confused about everything that's happening.

Then it happened.

He took his mask off.

He had a human mask on...

He's not human.

The entire room glowed with the red from the room outside. How did she not notice before? Even the things he had in his room is how it looks as a vampire room, he always had the lights off, he didn't feel the pain from her fangs or so she thought and—

"I insist that you stay. Tonight is my night." Lucien grinned evilly as he ran his sharp nail across the coldness of her cheek.

She may not have blood but if she did it would run right out of her body in the moment.

She remained silent going in freeze mode rather than fight.

"What? A vampire slayer got your tongue?" His evil laugh echoed throughout the room as he saw fear in her eyes for the first time.

"What?" It came out as soft as a whisper.

"What?" He mocked.

She shouldn't be that afraid right? He was just another vampire. Well, so you'd think. This vampire bullied her. This vampire made her life a living hell. This vampire was in one of the most powerful pacts and she didn't even notice he disguised himself as a human. This vampire is the one her parents sent to kill her.

And now she's standing here face to face with the person she was running from.

She couldn't be in 'Lucien the human's room' when the moon came out because

"Wait", she looked around in confusion, "how did I take your blood if you're a vampire? You won't have blood right?"

"Oh are you that dumb? You can't be right?" He rolled his eyes before gripping her neck tightly with half of his strength.

She choked a little.

"I'm your mate. Of course you'd be able to have my blood."

'Mate?! So that's why the moon is red ton—"

"Well this was one fun but I got a job to do so if you don't mind." He squeezed her neck tightly.

She didn't have time to struggle before her body fell limp on the floor, Orion her mate walking over her body to close and lock the window.
