Rosalyn

I woke up on a warm bed in a room I'd never been in before. It was completely black. The walls, drapes and even the bedsheets i was sprawled on were black. There was a warm wall behind me but I thought nothing of it, the entirety of my focus was on the tall dark figure in the shadow the drapes were providing. I was officially freaking out. I scooted back into the wall behind me and it groaned. The wall groaned. Though that probably means it's not a wall. I wanted to look behind me but my eyes were locked on the figure by the drapes. It was moving towards me. Oh my god it was moving towards me. I pushed my self farther into the body behind me, I think we've already established that it was a person, my breaths were shallow and a sound I never thought I'd make escaped me. I whimpered. Apparently that's all it took to wake the person behind me because they growled. I'm not so sure it's a person any more.
"Down Diablo!" The person yelled.
It was a man. I covered my ears and shut my eyes tight. Where was I? Where did the Madame go? Was I sold, or maybe adopted? The Madame wasn't so cold hearted she would sell me in my sleep right? Right? I shouldn't kid myself, of course she was.
"Rose? Rosalyn?"
I heard the man call, he was waving his hand in front of my face and lightly shaking me.
"Where am I?" I ask, still shaken from whatever was behind the drapes
"You're in my room."
"Why?"
"I found you in an alley. Unconscious."
I gasp. I was... I was in the orphanage making dinner. I couldn't have been in an alley. I try to laugh it off but the stern look he has on his face tells me he doesn't believe it.
"That's impossible. I was at the orphanage making dinner for the kiddos and went to bed early, I can show you my planner. Shoot! Where's my planner! I can't get through the day without it!"
"Relax! I've sent someone to pick up your things from the orphanage."
"What? Why? I'm going back. Who else is gonna feed the kiddos?"
"The Madame, it's her job."
"She's a horrible person, I can't leave the kids with her, they'll starve." My tone was somber and I think he noticed because his features softened even more.
"How about I get the orphanage a new Madame?"
"A nice one?"
"Yes, I'll talk to her myself."
"Would you mind if I talked to her?"
"Not at all." He smiled at me. I let out the breath I've been holding and hoped with all my heart that the kiddos would be okay. They were my light
"Can i still see them?" I looked down, i was already asking too much of this man I didn't even know the name of, but I couldn't help but try.
"Of course you can," He lowered his head to meet my eyes. "Anything for you, tesoro."(treasure)
I look at him in confusion until everything clicked, well one thing did.
"No, no, no, no, where's Ivy? I just found her I can't loose her!" I started freaking out until I heard a pair of claws pawing at the door.
" right on time." The stranger said under his breath. He started towards the door, once he opened it my furry ball of sunshine sprinted towards me jumping into my arms. Literally jumping, she just loves to jump for some reason.
"Ivy!" I let out a sigh of relief, but I froze when I heard the loudest growl I've ever heard. Out from behind the drapes a ginormous dog with a shiny black coat prowled towards us. More specifically, me. I started to freak out. Again. So I hid me and Ivy under the covers. I was shaking.
"Diablo out! Now!" I heard the man yell, followed by the sound of the door closing and a warm body bringing me closer.
"Hey, hey, hey, he's gone now. Your okay. There's nothing to worry about. Your safe. Safe." He pushed my face into his chest and started combing his hand over the top of my head over and over until I was lulled to sleep with his arms around me and Ivy's furry body curled up on my chest.
