You two left, and he didn't say anything. You arrived at the courtyard. Standing in one of the walkways, he cleared his throat. You leaned against the stone, arms crossed, although you gave him your attention.
"Look, Y/n," Harry began. "I know you think you and Malfoy are good together, but you're wrong. He's a player. He's a body user. Y/n, try to see what I see."
You shook your head. "He hasn't asked-"
"Not yet, but he will. He'll take everything. Don't trust him."
"I'm not going to leave him."
Something changed in his emerald eyes. "You can't honestly think he's some gentleman. He's a Malfoy. A Slytherin!"
"Just because you're prejudiced-" You straightened, anger rising.
"He's a racist, a judgemental little ferret!"
"I love him, Harry Potter! Whether you like it or not!" you yelled.
Harry faltered, then stepped forward. "Fine. I'll tell Mrs.Weasley."
"You wouldn't dare," you growled.
"Try me." He glared behind his glasses.
You looked away "Whatever, Potter." You turned and left, furious. But when you saw Draco standing by the Grand Staircase, your anger faded. You walked over. "Come on," you nodded to the staircase descending to the dungeons. You looped your arm through his and headed to his common room.
"What did Potter have to say?" he asked.
"Tried to reason with me. Told me you were toxic."
"What'd you say?" He asked, though his tone suggested he didn't really care.
"Doesn't matter. He'll just be proved right when our deal is done. How long till then?"
"Not long. A month?"
You rolled your eyes, "whatever."
"Suck it up, Mudblood. Just keep up the pretense that you're head over heels for me, alright?"
"Sure, babe," you drawled.
He scoffed and stopped. "Pure-blood." A stone door that you hadn't noticed before opened.
Two hours later.
"Thanks," you smiled, shoving you're now completed. homework in your bag
"Of course, Princess." Draco stood from his spot at the table.
You stood and quickly followed him. He went to a lone spot in the common room and sat on a black leather couch. You set your bag on the floor and sat next to him. He moved his arm behind your neck. You two sat in silence for a few minutes. "I'm sorry for the trouble with Potter. You deserve better."
"Sure," you muttered, though his apology sounded genuine He pulled away, and straightened, angling his body toward you. You did the same.
"Seriously, y/n. You deserve a caring friend instead of that arrogant brat."
"I have too much school work to do instead of friends...or finding a date."
"Liar," He said
"You act like guys have a crush on me."
"They do. I'll prove my point." Draco moved his hands to your face. His touch made the breath in your lungs disappear. He held your face and leaned forward, barely an inch from yours. Your eyes fluttered shut. He smirked at your reaction, then laid his lips on yours.
Your heart felt warm as you embraced his soft lips. It almost feels real, you think. He moved his hand from your face to around your waist. You cup his cheek with your hand. He broke away and looked you in the eyes. He gave you a quick peck on the lips and got up, smirking at you. You're so flustered and shocked that you can't speak. "Get some sleep, Princess. I'll see you tomorrow." He turned and disappeared behind the door to his dorm.
You laid a hand on your chest, trying to steady your racing heart. You stood, dizzy and unsteady. You picked up your bag and turned. The whole room was staring at you. Shock and anger were on their faces. You rushed out, face red. You hurried to your common room, mind racing.
'He kissed me. But it's fake. But he kissed me,' you thought. Entering the Gryffindor common room; you still had a smile on your face. The trio was sitting by the fire. You ignored them and went to your dorm You changed your clothes and climbed underneath your blankets. You closed your eyes, remembering the kiss. But soon tears were slipping down your face! as you remembered that it was fake. 'You shouldn't care,' you thought. 'He was just a stupid Malfoy. He was cruel and emotionless, But his kiss held so much passion, like he, too, wished it was real'
The next morning
You woke up and got dressed. You wore ripped jeans & and a tight knitted long sleeve. You brushed your teeth and your hair and pulled on your shoes. Hermione had gotten ready and left without a word to you. You go to the great hall, and head straight to Draco. But your anger toward Hermione faded to confusion when you noticed all the stares. Most of the boys and some of the girls watched you with jealous eyes. You sat next to Draco, who was smirking. "Told you so."
"W-what?" you stutter.
"Last night. This proves my point," he stated. You roll your eyes in annoyance and start filling your plate with breakfast. "Someone's crabby" sneered Draco.
"Just shut up." You mutter.
He turned toward you and tucked your hair behind "What's wrong, baby?" He asked
"Don't call me that." You kept your voice low so only he could hear.
"Are you mad at me?" He asked, dropping his right hand and moving his left hand to your neck. Draco leaned forward and pressed his lips to the corner of your jaw.
Your grip tightened on your silverware making your hand shake. "No," you said breathlessly. "Then what's wrong?" He repeated, lips moving against your skin.
Across the Hall, you caught Ron glaring at you. You gently pushed Draco away. "It's nothing. Potter, Weasley, and Granger just hate me right now."
Draco pulled his hand away "Hang on, are you blushing?" You looked away, blushing harder. He smirked but didn't tease you further. "They'll get over it. Gryffindor's just like conflict."
You raised an eyebrow. "Say's you."
He shook his head. "That's different" You rolled your eyes playfully, but he stayed serious. "They are the ones that start it." You decided not to question it. When you got done eating, you stood. Draco caught your hand "Wait." He slipped his Slytherin ring off his right hand and pushed it on your right ring finger. He tapped it with his wand and shrunk the ring so it fit you. He let you go, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips at your surprised face. You opened your mouth to say something, but you couldn't think of anything to say. So you closed it and left.
