Morning...
Jeonghan stirred at the crack of dawn, slipping quietly out of bed, careful not to wake Seungcheol. As he padded softly into the hallway, he was met with the familiar sounds of the house, small feet padding from rooms, sleepy murmurs, and a few yawns that hinted at the busy morning ahead.
One by one, he woke the kids, a gentle hand on each shoulder and a soft, “Time to wake up, sleepyhead.” He laughed softly as little Wonwoo and Jihoon grumbled, still clutching their blankets, while Mingyu and Hoshi sprang out of bed, ready for the day.
With a quick scan of the hallway, Jeonghan led the small little kids toward the kitchen, where breakfast preparation began. He busied himself at the stove, flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs, the smell of fresh coffee filling the room as a few more children wandered in, rubbing their eyes.
A warm arm slipped around his waist as he felt Seungcheol’s head rest on his shoulder. “Good morning, my omega,” Seungcheol murmured, pressing a light kiss to Jeonghan’s neck. “How do you do this every day?”
Jeonghan laughed, leaning into Seungcheol’s warmth. “It’s the only way to keep this team in line. Speaking of…” He glanced around, pointing out Minghao who was attempting to sneak extra chocolate chips into his pancake batter. “Hey, no extras!” Jeonghan called, smirking as little Minghao pouted but listened to his eomma.
Then Seungcheol took a sip of his coffee, watching Jeonghan move effortlessly around the kitchen, his heart swelling with pride and admiration. “You know, you really are wife material,” he teased, grinning as Jeonghan shot him a playful glare.
“Oh, and what does that make you?” Jeonghan replied with a smirk, raising an eyebrow.
“A lucky alpha,” Seungcheol replied smoothly, leaning in for another kiss, which was quickly interrupted by a chorus of “Yaaah Appa!! Eomma!! Not infront of us!” from their youngest, Chan, making both parents laugh.
The breakfast table was a lively scene, filled with the usual cheerful chaos. Jeonghan moved around, helping Mingyu with his orange juice, cutting pancakes for Seokmin, and persuading Seungkwan to try his vegetables. Meanwhile, Seungcheol was preoccupied with wiping syrup off of Hoshi’s hands before he smeared it across his shirt.
“Daddy, look! I made a heart with my pancake!” exclaimed Vernon, holding up his plate for Seungcheol to see.
Seungcheol chuckled, ruffling Vernon’s hair. “Good job, my little artist.”
As breakfast wrapped up, the morning chaos transitioned to everyone scrambling to get ready for the day. Jeonghan helped each child with their backpacks, ensuring that they had their lunches and folders. Meanwhile, Seungcheol slipped on his jacket, ready to head out to work.
Seungcheol watched as Jeonghan fussed over the kids one last time, making sure everyone had brushed their teeth and had their jackets on. He found himself lost in admiration for Jeonghan, the way he could manage all of this with such grace and love.
Jeonghan noticed Seungcheol watching him and rolled his eyes with a smile. “Go on, mister. Don’t you have work?”
Seungcheol smirked, stepping over to plant a kiss on Jeonghan’s cheek. “Can’t help it, I don’t want to leave.” He then knelt down, pulling each child into a quick hug before waving them off to school.
“Bye, Daddy! Bye, Appa!” the kids chorused, giving them both warm, excited hugs as they headed out.
''You still wont leave?'' Asked Jeonghan with a playful smirk.
