"Who the hell is texting me this early?"
It was supposed to be a normal morning. Normally, Kayleigh would be getting a long lay in - but one of her friends messaged her, setting off her loud notification sound.
Kayleigh: "God I really should put that thing on do not disturb... also it's like 9 AM, what's so important now?"
She tiredly reached for her phone to see what the notification was. It said: '1 message from a group'
Kayleigh: "Of course it's them."
The group was Kayleigh's friends, and would normally wake her up with the random stuff they messaged her. Kayleigh opened up her phone to read the text, but it wasn't what They would usually send her. The text was normally a "HIIIII", or some random video. Instead, it read 'Hey! Sorry for waking some of you up this early. I know you would probably want to be sleeping right now, but come to the park as soon as you can! We've got a surprise for you!"
Kayleigh: "A surprise? What on earth...? Oh well, better start getting ready."
Kayleigh slowly and tiredly got out of bed. The first thing she did was splash cold water all over her face to wake her up, and then she quickly put on any clothes she could find. Kayleigh needed to hurry, because athough she was annoyed by the unwanted early start, she was eager to know what the surprise was. After a few minutes, Kayleigh rushed downstairs and headed to the front door. Just as she was about to leave, Kayleigh was suddenly interrupted by her mom. "Morning!" Kayleigh's mom said, "what are you in a rush for? It's 9 AM?"
"I know, mom. I'm sorry. It's just that - my friends asked me to meet them at the park as soon as I could." She replied.
"Oh alright sweetie. just, be safe while you're gone!"
"I will, don't worry mom!" Kayleigh laughed back. "Bye!"
Kayleigh walked as quick as she could to get to the park. After a long 10 minutes, she arrived and saw the whole group of her friends sitting down at a picnic table. They were all looking at something. "Wonder what they're looking at?" Kayleigh thought to herself. "Okay Kayleigh, enough talking to yourself and go see them!"
She walked up to the group, excited and nervous at the same time to see what they had for her.
But being there was the biggest mistake any of them had made.
