—Izuku POV—
I could sense his nerves radiating in the air, creating a palpable tension between us that didn't help either of our anxieties. "Besides, music tends to ease the stress, right?" I attempted to lighten the mood.As he savored the fluffy, golden eggs I had prepared, I caught him glancing up with genuine curiosity. "So, what kind of music are you into?" he inquired, his fork pausing mid-air. My face lit up with a smile, a rush of excitement bubbling within me. "There's this one band that's been my all-time favorite since high school," I responded, the enthusiasm in my voice surprising even me.
"Oh? What band? Are they popular?" His intrigue deepened, and I couldn't help but smirk, feeling a spark of connection. I quickly navigated to my playlist and selected the upbeat track "Everybody Talks" by Tnts. With a hint of mischief in my eyes, I turned to him, "Do you know this song?"
His gaze shifted to the screen, and for a moment, he seemed frozen, caught off guard by my enthusiasm. "Y-you like them?" he stammered, a flicker of surprise dancing across his face.
"Like them?! I adore them!" I exclaimed, my excitement spilling over as I launched into a passionate rant about their unique sound and unforgettable lyrics. The nervous energy began to shift, and for the first time, it felt like we were truly connecting.
He chuckled and flashed a warm smile in my direction. "Yeah, I like them too! I'm really into their new songs." His enthusiasm was contagious, and I felt a rush of excitement bubbling within me. As the night unfolded, we found ourselves deep in conversation, surrounded by the rhythm of the music that filled the room, creating an atmosphere of effortless connection and shared joy.
**Time skip to bedtime—**
As the evening drew to a close, I made my way to the bedroom closet, the faint smell of cotton and fabric softener welcoming me as I rummaged through the blankets. "So, would you prefer to sleep in my room or on the couch?" I asked casually, my mind drifting elsewhere as I pulled out a couple of cozy throws.
Suddenly, I heard him respond with a teasing tone, "I thought you said no flirting? Because I'd want to sleep with you." Time seemed to stand still as I froze, a playful glare creeping onto my face as I tossed a pillow in his direction. He burst into laughter, his eyes dancing with mischief, and I couldn't help but crack a smile. "Relax! It was just a joke, dude!" he said, the warmth in his voice easing the moment's tension.
"I just assumed you'd prefer me to sleep on the couch," he said, his brow furrowed in confusion as he looked at me. I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me, causing me to freeze in place and avoid his gaze. "I don't like thunder... the rain and lightning are fine, though," I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper as I wrestled with whether I wanted him to hear my admission.
"Do you need someone to stick around with you?" he asked, his voice a gentle melody that wrapped around me like a comforting blanket. I nodded, feeling a wave of warmth wash over me in response to his kindness.
"Alright then!" he exclaimed with a bright smile as if my simple agreement was the most reassuring answer he could have hoped for. "I can sleep on the floor, and we can watch a movie or something fun together. How does that sound?"
His hand gave a reassuring pat on my back, a gesture that grounded me in the moment. It made me acutely aware of how close he was, his presence radiating a sense of safety that I hadn't realized I needed until now. The idea of spending the night in good company began to lift the weight I had been carrying, allowing a small smile to play on my lips. "Ya that sounds good"
I watch as he breaks into a warm smile, the kind that lights up his eyes and hints at mischief. "Cool, wanna watch a comedy?" he asks, his voice filled with enthusiasm. I nod eagerly, my heart lifting at the thought of sharing a laugh together. He steps closer, effortlessly lifting the stack of cozy blankets piled in my arms, and I follow him as we make our way to my room. The soft fabric feels comforting against my skin, and I can't help but feel a flutter of excitement at the prospect of a fun evening ahead, surrounded by laughter and the cozy atmosphere we're creating. As I carry the pillows and open my bed room door. And there's a couple TnT posters, and I see him stare at them and I hear him chuckle but I ignore it.
