Ajay

Ajay could barely hear a thing with everyone yelling and had started to get irritated, just when he was about to speak up Cameron said something. "Can everyone calm down? We need to figure out what's going on, maybe the thing in the phone knows." That had gotten everyone to calm down, "Yeah Cameron is right we should see what it has to say." Mae says in a gentle voice but Melody had looked freaked out. She looked like she wanted to say something but she kept quiet.
They were all huddled around the phone and Cameron asked the thing on the phone a question, "What do you know about our current situation?" "I know lots about your situation, what do you wanna know first?" It asked them. "Did we have to be the people here? Would this 'camp' still work if it were different people?" Mae asked, "No, I don't believe it would work with other people. Everyone here was scouted out for a reason." It had said back to her. "What do you mean 'scouted'? Did someone need us to be here..?" Andrea asked next to Ajay nervously, "You were needed by —- to be here." It said, becoming distorted when saying what Ajay thought was a name. "What did you say? You're breaking up." Cameron had asked the last question before the phone glitched out and hung up.
"Well, what should we do now?" Finn asked curiously, "I think we should get into the groups of 2 we made and explore, when we're done we can come back here and explain our findings." Cameron said to everyone, everyone agreed and got into the groups they had made the night prior. Ajay and Andrea walked out and started to explore, "Where should we go first?" he asked her "We should go where we were dropped off by the bus and go from there" She responded to him changing the direction they were walking to where they were dropped off yesterday. They exchanged a few words while exploring, they were walking and we're halfway through a conversation when they heard footsteps behind them, Ajay saw Andrea reaching for her bat– just in case. They looked behind them and saw someone? Something. It looked just like Ajay but had a green button on its face and its eyes had no life in them, it looked like a robot.
"Hello!" it said to the twins, Andrea was holding her bat in her hand and Ajay looked at it confused. It started to walk up to them, Andrea's hold on her bat tightened, "Woah, calm down missy! I'm not going to hurt you, I just want to talk!" the clone said to her. Her grip loosened but she still held onto the bat, "Who– what are you?" Ajay asked, "I'm you! Well– I'm not YOU but I was made to be you." It said to Ajay taking his hands and holding them, Ajay could feel that it was made of silicone, it didn't feel real. "Are you–" "A robot? Yes, I am." it interrupted Ajay, "Well it's time for me to go, byebye!" it ran away leaving the other two left behind confused.
"I think we should go back." Andrea said to Ajay and they started their journey back. When they had gotten back they saw half of their group was back already, "Welcome back, we're gonna start sharing once everyones back so we don't have to repeat ourselves." Cameron said to the twins, Ajay nodded and went to sit with Andrea in the corner they slept in.
As Ajay and Andrea settled into their corner the rest of the group came in, Leroy walked up to them looking distraught and sat down. Cameron began, "Alright, let's share our findings. Do you want to share what we found, Mae?" "Yeah, we found some strange symbols etched into a wall. They seemed to pulse with a faint blue light. We looked inside of them but it was just like a void."
Melody and Amber exchanged a knowing glance, "We found a building," Amber started. "It was full of maps and documents. Looks like someone's been tracking our movements or something."
Ajay's mind raced, connecting the dots. "Me and Andrea found a robot clone thing, it said it was made to be me. It looked just like me. What if–" Andrea finished his thought, "--What if we're part of some experiment..?"
The room fell silent, filled with uncomfortable silence. Suddenly, the phone on the floor buzzed, its screen flickering to life. This time it wasn't the same thing as before it was different.
"H-Hello?" Cameron answered cautiously. "I see you're getting closer to the truth," The distorted voice said. "But be warned; you're not the only ones searching for answers."
The line went dead.
"What do we do now..?"
