As the dust settled and the last of the goons fled, the groom's family exchanged wide-eyed glances as their previous confidence is shattered. They quickly turned to leave and their earlier intentions of matchmaking completely forgotten.
Groom's mother : Wait !
The groom's mother called out nervously.
Groom's mother : We—uh, we'll be in touch !
Without waiting for a response, they hurried to their car, the sounds of their hurried footsteps is echoing down the driveway. Shrika watched them go with an amused grin, feeling a rush of satisfaction at having sent them packing.
As she turned back toward the house, her mother, Vaidehi, crossed her arms and shook her head with a teasing smile playing on her lips.
Vaidehi : Well, I suppose that's one way to impress a potential groom.
Shrika : Mom, I don't need a groom who's scared of a petty fight.
She replied by waving off her mother's remarks. With a lighthearted laugh, she bounded up the stairs, her spirits high.
Once in her room, she quickly changed into comfortable clothes, A soft t-shirt and joggers as she is eager to shake off the formalities of the morning. She grabbed her car keys from the dresser and her mind is already racing with plans for the day ahead.
On her way to the kitchen, she snagged a spicy chili fritter from a plate on the counter, popping it into her mouth with a satisfied crunch.
Shrika : Mmm, just what I needed !
She mumbled through a mouthful by relishing the flavor.
As she slung her bag over her shoulder, she found Raghav in the living room, flipping through a newspaper.
Raghav : Where are you off to in such a hurry ?
He asked by looking up with a hint of curiosity.
Shrika : Dad, I have some urgent work to take care of. Don't wait up !
she called back by already moving toward the door.
Raghav : Urgent work, huh ? Just remember, no more fights !
He reminded her with a chuckle even though the pride in his eyes was unmistakable.
With a wave, Shrika stepped outside and the fresh air is invigorating her as she headed to her car. Her heart raced with excitement not just from the earlier encounter, but from the possibilities the day held. Little did she know, the adventures ahead would be just as unpredictable as her spirited nature.
Shrika hopped into her car, excitement bubbling inside her as she drove to her business store. Once there, she stepped inside, greeted by the familiar sight of the craft room buzzing with activity. Artisans worked diligently, surrounded by colorful fabrics and handcrafted items, bringing her vision to life.
