"So, you've done everything

"So, you've done everything. All I need to do is run your background check and then as soon as that comes back you can start next week. How does that sound?" Sitting inside the Bank in a chair across from Tristian with piles of paperwork on a desk, I nod signing the dotted line at the bottom of a paper as he goes over things with me.

I give him back the pen and paper when I'm done transcribing my name. "That sounds great."

Staring down at the paper I just signed, the manager rubs his fingers underneath his chin asking. "I know you want to work part time so will three days out of the week be good for you?"

"Yeah, that is perfect." I confirm with a smile when he looks up at me lifting a questionable brow with his arms crossing over his chest.

The manager gathers all the papers and then slides them inside a white folder with my name way at the top left corner in neat cursive. He stands out of the chair and so do I. "Thank you for coming in. We'll talk soon," he gives me a firm hand shake and then I exit the building.

Reaching the bus stop I sit down on the cold bench under the shelter putting my freezing hands inside my coat pockets, shivering after checking the bus schedule for the second time. It should arrive in twenty minutes.

I hear footsteps crunching in the snow coming near me and then a low deep voice says "Brandy?" making me look out the corner of my eyes. Damien stands three feet away smiling with red cheeks as his breath flows from his mouth when he talks. "What are you doing on this side of town?"

"Are you stalking me now?" I joke—well sort of. Him and I haven't spoken in days after I walked in on him and that blonde. He isn't home that much during the day either and he comes home when I'm in bed.

My annoying roommate sucks his teeth, rolling his eyes with a flirty grin. "Maybe I am." My eyes widen and he laughs. "I'm kidding. My mom lives on this side of town. What are you doing way over here?"

"Working." That isn't the whole truth but isn't a complete lie either. I check the time on my phone. "You're coming from your mom's house?"

Damien nods, taking a pack of smokes from his jacket pocket. "Yeah, she asked me to go to the supermarket and grab her a few things for dinner. Do you need a ride somewhere? I'm parked over there." He then points at a white BMW across the street in front of an apartment complex. I don't see his motorcycle anywhere.

"You don't mind at all?" My teeth chatters in the cold while a gust of wind blows through my hair and then across my face. Smoking, he motions for me to walk with him across the street and I say teasingly. "You can spend time with your mommy I can wait."

"Okay, then you'll coming to the supermarket with me then." He unlocks the doors and then climbs inside the nice new model ride the same time I do. Inside it smells like cherry blossom and the seats are very cold. He instantly turns on the heat after turning over the engine seeing me shivering, blowing my breath between my clasped hands.
