Making it through to the next round, contestants were placed into a group that would be ran by one of the judges. Alessia was in Cheryl's group, which made her very happy as she loved Cheryl.
What Alessia did not know was that she nearly was going to be cut from the show. According to Simon, she had potential, but she wasn't great on her own. The judges decided that she was too good to lose so they came up with a plan.
Alessia was invited to Simon's house as he wanted to speak to her, to break the news. Nervously, Alessia greeted Simon and he sat down opposite her.
"Okay, so as judges, sometimes you have to make life changing decisions"
The more he spoke, the more nervous she got as he was making it sound as if she was going to be sent home which she didn't want
"We have decided that you are too good to lose out on and because of that aspect we were going to try something out if you are alright with that"
"What is it?" Alessia asked timidly
"We discussed placing you with others in a group, a band if you would call it that, if that's okay with you"
Alessia let out a breath she did not even realise she was holding in, at least she was not going to be going home.
"Uhm yeah, that sounds good with me" she replied to him, trying to sound confident
"Alright, come with me to meet the group" he stands up and gestures her to follow him, in which she does.
He takes her over to a group of girls and he introduces them all and then he provides them with a song that he wants them to sing together. As they're singing together, something feels off.
Their voices don't really blend well and they did not match each others tone. Alessia knew this wouldn't last which disappointed her as she didn't know that Simon had another option.
"Okay...maybe not but I do have another option" he began "but it is a group of boys"
She was a bit nervous about that but she agreed anyway so she was taken to meet the boys. They sang together a little and Simon could tell that this was it.
"Perfect, we found the missing puzzle piece" he stated "go and get to know each other and start rehearsing"
"Uhm hi" she smiles, giving the boys a nervous wave
All the boys greeted her with smiles and friendly gestures, making sure she felt as welcome as possible.
Niall seemed to not speak, just staring, he didn't get a proper look at her when he saw her at the auditions but now he got to and he fully took her in.
She looked pretty, or maybe that was just his teenage hormones kicking in but he didn't really care, he still thought she was beautiful. To be honest, he didn't even realise that he was staring until Liam nudged him.
"Huh?" Then he realised and got slightly embarrassed "y-yeah nice to welcome you to our group"
"Welcome to the grouo" Zayn says before everyone envelops themselves in a group hug
Days go by and then it is eventually time for the judges houses performance. The group says their final good luck to themselves, and each other, before they head to where Simon is sat.
Nervously, even though they tried to seem confident, the group says their hellos to Simon. Alessia glanced back at Louis to make sure that he was doing alright. Louis gave her a small smile.
A few days prior, the group went to the beach and while they were there, something happened. Louis ended up getting stung by a sea urchin and ended up in the hospital because of it. This meant that he was limping around for the time being.
Simon asks if he is alright before asking the entire group if they are confident. Everyone speaks a short "yes" which does not make them some believable. It was quite easy to tell that they were nervous, and understandably so, they were still kids at the end of the day.
Eventually, they start to perform. They were performing the song 'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia. Simon did not admit it to them but at the minute, he thought that Liam and Alessia were the strongest singers within the group.
Liam started off singing, followed by Harry coming in for the pre chorus. Alessia sang the chorus while Liam and Harry did the backing vocals. The 'oos' were sung by Niall, Louis and Zayn.
The performance ended and the group had to wait anxiously for what Simon would say to them. Everyone was very nervous.
"No matter what happens we are a group, and friends stick by each other" Louis speaks as they all nod along when Simon catches their attention
The group situates themselves in front of him, arms around each other in anticipation
"Do you guys understand why I did what I did?" Simon asks, gesturing to the fact that he put six random people together
Nodding along to him, the group listens further
"However..." he dramatically pauses "on a positive note it works. It's a yes. Don't disappoint me"
"Yes!" Harry yells while Niall picks Alessia up and spins her around, making me laugh
Harry runs over to hug Simon
Simon speaks "I'm so impressed with all of you, and I mean that"
Every single member felt like crying of happiness, they couldn't believe that they had made it. This is what they wanted and it was not a dream, it was reality.
Alessia goes to phone her parents to let them know, hearing her brothers being ecstatic in the background too. This was it and she would not dissapoint.
