Amaya and Sebastian were on their way back home from school. They both were sitting in the backseat not saying a word. Amaya stole a glance at him. He was staring out the window, his fingers drumming rhythmically against his knee. She didn't understand him or his behavior.

"Are you always this quiet," she asked, breaking the silence. "Depends," he replied, his gaze still on the passing scenery.

"On what? She continued.

"It there is anything worth talking about, I guess," he answered, this time his eyes landing on Amaya.

"Soo, basically you're saying you're bad at conversing with people?"

Sebastian raised an eyebrow at her, a small smirk appearing on his lips.

"I'm not bad at it," he said, finally turning his full attention to her.

"I just choose when to talk and to who. Big difference." He pointed out.

Amaya rolled her eyes at his answer, clearly annoyed. She leaned back in her seat, folding her arms. "Right, so you just choose not to talk to me?"

Sebastian's lips turned into a smirk. "You said it, not me."

"Well, that's rude." She muttered as she narrowed her eyes.

"So, what, I'm not worth talking to?" she continued.

Sebastian let out a small chuckle, his gaze still set on her. "I didn't say that either," he replied, his voice dripping in mischief.

"You're talking to me now, aren't you? Seems like you're more interested than you're letting on."

Amaya scoffed, though she couldn't stop the flush from creeping up her neck. "Trust me, I'm only talking to you because the silence was so awkward, it was killing me.

Sebastian leaned back, his eyes filled with amusement. "Right. And here I thought you wanted my attention."

Amaya's cheeks burned at the insinuation as she glared at him. "Don't flatter yourself. It's called being polite. I mean I can't change your awkward personality. So don't blame me for your lack of social skills."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. A teasing grin spreading across his face. "Awkward? Me? That's rich coming from someone who just admitted to breaking the silence because it was killing them."

Amaya rolled her eyes, her annoyance flaring. "You're not even listening. I'm trying to be nice here, and you're actually making it impossible."

"Nice, huh? Could've fooled me. You're practically begging for a conversation."

"I'm not–" she stopped herself, realizing she was playing right into his hands.

She took a deep breath, regaining her composure. "You're insufferable, you know that?" she said annoyed.

"Insufferable? I think you mean charming and super funny," he replied, unfazed by the insult.

"No, you're like actually impossible," she said as she looked at him with a judging face.

Sebastian chuckled again, clearly enjoying getting under her skin. "Nah, you just make it easy." His eyes sparkled with amusement as he watched her.

Amaya turned away, clearly feeling done with the conversation as she heard him speak again: "Maybe next time I'll let you win." He said, leaning in closer for her to hear.

Amaya shot him a side-eye. "I don't need you to let me win."

He grinned, still looking at her. "We'll see about that."

As they arrived at the mansion, Amya quickly unbuckled her seatbelt and swung open the car door, eager to escape Sebastian's presence. What game was he playing at?

She stepped out onto the driveway, looking at the Estate. She still couldn't believe she was there.

She felt Sebastian's presence behind her and decided to ignore him.

"Hey! Wait up," he called out.

"What?" she shot back.

"Oh, come on," he said, catching up easily. "Don't be like that. I thought you wanted to be nice to me," he teased.

"I thought you wanted to be friends?" he continued, mocking her.

Amaya ignored him as she walked into the house, which seemed to be empty. She could still hear his footsteps behind her.

"I'm not in the mood, Sebastian," she said coldly as she walked upstairs. He didn't listen as he followed her.

"Can you seriously just give it up already?" She said as she stopped by her room, but Sebastian didn't reply, instead he walked right past her to his room, which was at the end of the hallway.

"Huh, was there anything you said?" He asked, acting unknowing, which annoyed her even more.

She only replied with the fakest smile she could possibly make, before entering her room.

And for a moment there she made him forget...
