What if Farjaad didn't return to the room after Umeed told him she wanted to postpone the wedding?

"Ye shaadi hogi, toh aaj hi hogi, warna nahi. Understood?" Farjaad erupted before he stormed out of Umeed's room.

Umeed's mind was in a flurry of emotions - would her Farjaad really make her choose between him or her dream? Was he really pushing her to make this decision? On the outside, Umeed was sulking with her arms crossed stubbornly across her chest, but she was actually deep in thought.

It was only when one of the rhinestones from her wedding dress pricked her hand that Umeed snapped out of her trance. There were two hours left for her wedding; she was dolled up to be Farjaad's bride - the same Farjaad that just stormed out of her room after giving her a warning.

"Umeed, ye tumne kya kardiya? Tumhe aaj ke din Farjaad se ye saari baatein nahi karni chahiye thi," she reprimanded herself as she hesitantly pressed both of her index fingers together.

"Allah jee, aap kuch Farjaad ke dil main aisa daal dein ke usse lage ke ghalati uski hai, aur woh mujhse aake sorry bole, aur mein usko maaf kardoon," Umeed was now sat on Haya's bed, her eyes tightly shut and awaiting a miracle. However, when she expectantly turned to look behind her, no one was there. Fate always had Umeed's side, but she understood that today was not the day to rely on destiny and miracles.

Umeed picked up her heavy wedding dress and darted towards the balcony, hoping she could stop Farjaad in time. As she stumbled towards the balcony railing, gripping it anxiously, she peeked over.

There he was. The sunlight fell perfectly on Farjaad's brown locks, making him glow in his white kurta. He looked like an angel - Umeed's angel.

Umeed was already out of breath from running in her extremely heavy dress, but Farjaad standing in the sun took her breath away even more.

"Farjaad!" Umeed called at the top of her already tired lungs. "Farjaad, yahan uppar dekhein!"

She didn't have to tell him where to look, though, Farjaad could make out exactly where Umeed was standing upon hearing her voice. His eyes immediately found her, glimmering with just as much hope as his fiancé's.

Farjaad's lips parted, and his cheeks flushed. Umeed was standing on the balcony, dressed as his bride. His bride that he was just about to leave all because of a petty disagreement.

His mind immediately went towards the first time he saw her standing in that position - the night he rescued her from the police lock-up. He had to deal with the entire messy situation that she created, but when he locked eyes with her that night, he left the Pasha house with not a hint of regret or anger.

The second time he saw her on that balcony, he had just had his first inconvenient encounter with the adults of the Pasha household, but he still promised Pasha sahab that he would make things official between their families as soon as possible. He locked eyes with her again that night, and realised instantly that he was content and proud of his decision.

Every single time Farjaad and Umeed locked eyes when she was seeing him off from her balcony, he went home happy and she went to bed at ease. Farjaad smiled at how their balcony encounters unintentionally became a tradition in their lives, and he was definitely not going to break that tradition today. He was angry and hurt, but he didn't want to kill the tradition. So, Farjaad halted. He crossed his arms as he stood right outside the gate, and looked up at Umeed expectantly. "Ruk toh mein gaya hoon, lekin Umeed Pasha, aaj baari tumhari hai to make amends," he thought to himself as he waited.

Umeed was so glad Farjaad stopped, and she was even happier that he was waiting. She was about to carry her dress down the balcony stairs so she could be closer to him for this conversation, but Umeed's mind thought of the same thing Farjaad's did. This balcony became an important part of their lives, and this was probably the last time Umeed could interact with him from her favourite spot while she was still a resident of the Pasha house.

A smile grew on Umeed's lips. "Aap aise naraaz hoke jaayenge? Mujhe sahi se bye bhi nahi karenge?" Umeed was basically yelling from the balcony.

Before Farjaad could respond, Umeed continued, "Aaj toh aapne baraat bhi laani hai, phir bhi aise jaayenge?"

"Tumne toh kaha tha ke tum pehle apna cafe khologi? Toh kyun laoon mein baraat? Mein toh sab kuch khatam karke jaa raha hoon na," Farjaad yelled back. Although he was yelling, Umeed could hear the jest in his tone. Farjaad was confident that Umeed won't let him leave like that, and Umeed understood that immediately.

"Acha na! Ab kya mein dulhan hoke sorry karti hui achi lagoongi? Aapko pata hai mera sabse bara khwaab mera cafe hai - meri position bhi toh samjhein!" Umeed whined.

"I understand where you're coming from, Umeed, lekin tumhe bhi mujhpe bharosa hona chahiye. Jab maine kaha hai ke shaadi ke baad tumhe apne khwaab poore karne doonga, balke support bhi karoonga, toh tumhe yaqeen kyun nahi hai meri baat pe?" Farjaad expressed.

Umeed's eyes were big and apologetic. Farjaad was right, Umeed should have trusted him. After all, she's going to trust him with her life once she signs the marriage contract, so why can't she trust him with this dream of hers?

"Acha, theek hai! Mujhe aap pe poora bharosa hai - ab mood acha karein, jayein aur baraat leke aayein. Lekin usse pehle mujhe sahi se bye karein!" Umeed sing-songed as she batted her eyelashes and waved at him.

Farjaad smirked. Umeed was full of life and extremely emotional, but she was one of the most intelligent and understanding people he had ever met. He raised her hand to wave back at her, his smirk turning into a grin.

As he turned around to leave, Umeed's eyes followed him intently until she saw him stop in his tracks. Farjaad's body went stiff and Umeed's eyes widened shortly after. Pasha sahab was standing at the gate; Umeed and Farjaad were so lost in each other's eyes that neither of them knew how long he had been there for.

"Farjaad toh maan gaye baraat laane ke liye, lekin ye Pasha sahab na mana kardein kahin. Allah jee please bacha lein, mujh masoom dulhan ki izzat rakhlein," Umeed prayed as her eyes were glued onto Farjaad and her father as they were indulged in what seemed like a very awkward and serious conversation.
