Chapter 14

THIRD PERSON POV-

When Seungmin woke up, the first thing he noticed was warmth-strong, comforting warmth against his back, along with the gentle weight of an arm draped over his waist. His eyes opened slowly, and it took a few blinks before he registered that he wasn't in his own bed. He froze, piecing together last night's events and feeling his cheeks heat up as he realized whose arm was around him. Lee Know's arm.

*Oh.* His heart skipped. *We're... we're dating now.*

The thought was strange, surreal, and exhilarating all at once. He'd been friends with Lee Know for so long, but now that they'd finally admitted their feelings for each other, everything felt different. This was real. They were together now. The realization made his heart pound, and he tried to steady his breathing, afraid of waking Lee Know.

With extreme caution, Seungmin lifted the older's arm and slipped out of bed, doing his best to avoid any noise. Once he was safely out of the room, he exhaled in relief and made his way to the kitchen to get some water, hoping it would calm the blush that was burning across his cheeks.

As he poured himself a glass, he tried to get his thoughts in order. *This is fine. I'm just dating my best friend. No big deal,* he told himself, even as his heart raced in protest. He took a long sip of water, letting the coolness settle him down. But before he could fully compose himself, he heard a sleepy voice behind him.

"Seungmin, sneaking off already? And here I thought you'd stay for breakfast."

Seungmin nearly choked on his water, turning around to see Lee Know leaning against the doorway, a smirk tugging at his lips and his eyes glinting with amusement.

"L-Lee Know, you're awake," Seungmin stammered, feeling his cheeks heat up all over again.

"Mhm. Couldn't sleep without you," Lee Know teased, walking over to him and giving him a playful nudge. "Didn't know you'd be so shy after one night."

"I'm not shy!" Seungmin protested, though his face was definitely betraying him with its growing blush. "It's just... it's new. You're not usually... like this."

Lee Know chuckled, clearly enjoying Seungmin's flustered reaction. "So, you don't want me to be affectionate?"

"N-No, I didn't say that," Seungmin said, his voice barely a mumble. "It's just... surprising. You're usually... well, you know, calm."

"Oh, I can be calm," Lee Know replied, stepping closer until Seungmin could feel the warmth radiating from him. "But I can also be... a bit flirty, especially now that you're mine."

Seungmin's eyes widened. "Yours?"

Lee Know raised an eyebrow, his grin widening. "Yeah, you heard me. Don't pretend you don't like it." He leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I can feel your heart racing, you know."

Seungmin swallowed, feeling as if he might melt right there. "I... okay, maybe I do like it," he admitted, unable to meet Lee Know's gaze.

"Good," Lee Know said, giving him a small, satisfied smile. "Then let's get ready for class. Don't want to be late for our big debut as a couple."

Seungmin blinked. "Debut?"

"Yep." Lee Know winked at him. "We'll be the talk of the day."

Seungmin's mind spun as he processed that. They hadn't even been dating for a full day, and already, Lee Know was ready to announce it to their friends. He wasn't sure he was prepared for that kind of attention, but the look of quiet confidence on Lee Know's face made him feel a little braver.

As they walked to campus together, Lee Know reached out and took Seungmin's hand. At first, Seungmin tensed, glancing around to see if anyone was watching, but Lee Know just squeezed his hand gently, giving him a reassuring smile.

"You don't have to be so nervous, Seungmin," he said. "I'm here."

And with that simple reminder, Seungmin felt some of his anxiety melt away. Maybe he could handle this. Besides, having Lee Know by his side felt right.

When they arrived at the university, their friends were waiting at their usual spot under a large oak tree. Seungmin quickly let go of Lee Know's hand, but that did nothing to stop the teasing smirks and knowing looks that met them.

"Oh, look who's finally here!" Changbin called, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "The lovebirds have arrived."

Seungmin felt his face heat up immediately, but before he could deny anything, Jisung leaned in closer, examining his neck. "Yep, that bite mark's still there," he said with a grin. "So, should we start calling you two an official couple now?"

Seungmin opened his mouth, scrambling for an answer, but Lee Know beat him to it. He wrapped an arm around Seungmin's shoulders and looked at their friends with a casual smile.

"Actually, yeah. We are dating," he said simply, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

Seungmin's heart jumped, and his cheeks flushed even deeper as he gaped at Lee Know. He hadn't expected him to say it so... so boldly.

"Oh my god, I knew it!" Jisung exclaimed, giving Changbin a high-five. "Finally, the "vampire" is gone public."

Seungmin covered his face with his hands, feeling both embarrassed and oddly happy at the same time. "You don't have to make it sound like it's such a big deal," he muttered, peeking out between his fingers.

"But it is!" Jisung laughed, draping an arm over Seungmin's shoulders. "You're dating Lee Know. That's huge! The campus is gonna be buzzing with rumors."

Lee Know just chuckled, patting Seungmin on the back. "Relax. I think he likes the attention more than he lets on."

Seungmin could only groan in response, but a small smile tugged at his lips. As much as he was embarrassed, there was a strange joy in finally being able to hold Lee Know's hand in front of everyone, in having no more secrets between them.
