Carmelo's POV

"Afternoon," Dominic taps his knuckles on my office door. "Got something for you," he smiles, holding up a brown file folder.

I incline my head to the side indicating that he step inside and he does.

"When did you get in?" He questions, taking a seat in front of the desk.

I shrug my shoulders, tussling the towel over my head, drying my hair. "Hour and half maybe, I was in the gym for about an hour before washing up." I stick my free hand out in front of me walking to my side of the desk, "let's see it."

Dominic hands over the brown file, "I don't know why you're so fixated on this girl, Carmelo. She's just another pretty face, she comes with a lot of baggage."

I grab the folder from him, taking a seat in my chair, tossing the damp towel onto the side where the small couch is at.

"I wanna know who the baggage is," I snarl, tearing into the file my tech team has made on Adriana.

It's been nearly two weeks since I last seen her and for some strange reason I could not get her out of my fucking head.

I needed to know more about that woman. I needed to know who her piece of shit ex was; this way I can decide whether if I just want to torture the bastard or actually kill him, or maybe both. We'll decide what kind of mood I'm in that day.

I sent two more of my guys out to the same bar we met last weekend, someone other than Beanie and Don, to see if by any chance she would go back two weeks in a row but of course I had no luck, she didn't.

She either doesn't want to run into me again so she's not gonna go to the same bar twice, or was telling the truth about being a light weight and not going out to bars and clubs, either way I needed to find her, fast.

It's definitely not hard to find someone in this city, my city.

I quickly instructed my second in command to get the tech team to find out everything they knew about her and here he is two days later fulfilling all my wishes and making my dreams come true.

I saw the instant irritation on his face the second her name left my lips. I don't go digging around and poking into my one night stands, I don't even remember their names half of the time because I'm usually too intoxicated when around them but I wanted to remember every little thing about her.

"Everyone has a shitty ex, Carmelo, if he's no longer in her life let's drop it, don't go creating more problems for this girl."

I shake my head, looking up at him, "you didn't see the scars, Dom."

He inhales a deep breath, nodding his head, "she wasn't the first he put his hands on you know," he points to the papers in front of me. "He comes from money. We'll need to be careful if you decide to go after him. He bought his way out of all his bails and the cases were instantly dropped, no doubt the family paying someone off."

I scoff going through the pages, the system really is  fucked. "Money isn't going to buy his way out of this one. I think it's time that Elliot Elijah Smith learn how to keep his fucking hands to himself, and learn some fucking manners."

"She works at Uncle Sal's diner on Linnel and Citrus. She has a closing shift tonight if you really wanna see her, boss."

I shake my head, going back to the pages with her information.
