A few notes for this story just so the timelines add up and so that I'm not changing any ages I'm going to write this as if it's a dual-era setup. For example the wizarding world is like 16 years behind the muggle world. So Hope will still be born in 1980 but in the muggle world it would be 1996. She would have two separate birth certificates in case she wanted a muggle career.
Again this isn't going to impact anything, she's not going to age slower or faster it's just so that Sam, Colby and everyone else is the same age without having to alter the storyline of Hope or change anyone's D.O.B. Anyway, let's get into it.
Godric's Hollow has always been the ultimate destination for paranormal investigators Sam Golbach and Colby Brock. Ever since they dove into the world of ghost hunting, this spot has been at the top of their bucket list. Sure, the house has been a wreck for ages, but that hasn't stopped them from digging into its eerie past. They've spent countless nights glued to their computers, tracking down old news articles and eyewitness accounts.
This place is notorious for its hauntings. People have reported hearing spine-chilling feminine screams echoing from the ruins when no one was there, and shadowy figures flitting by the broken windows. Then there are the rumours of a man shouting and, if you listen closely enough, the sound of a baby crying. What's even creepier? No one knows why the house is haunted or what really happened to the family that lived there. Theories swirl around like leaves in the wind—some say they were on the run from a killer, maybe even in witness protection. Did their pursuer find them? Did it end in tragedy?
The biggest mystery of all is the one survivor from what destroyed the house in 1997 (1981 in the wizarding world): their baby girl. So when the house was finally rebuilt to its former glory by none other than their daughter, Hope, Sam and Colby knew they had to reach out. They were pumped at the thought of investigating her home, hoping to uncover the truth behind the hauntings.
But here's the kicker: Hope never saw their message. Instead, it was her soul brother, Ron, who stumbled across it. With a mix of scepticism and hope, he accepted on her behalf, thinking it might bring Hope some closure—even if it came from a couple of Muggle ghost hunters. Deep down, Ron isn't too sure what they'll find, but he's willing to give it a shot. After all, it could be the key to unlocking the past, or at least a chance to make peace with it.
