"Lexi get down here" my mom screamed from downstairs. i open my door and walk into the hallway "what?" "lexi come down here" i sigh and walk downstairs sitting on the steps to face my mom.
"we're going up to the lake house tomorrow so start packing" i quickly standup and look confused. "mom you couldn't have told me sooner?" "ellen just confirmed it!" "god you're so annoying!" i run upstairs and shut my door.
ive changed a lot since last summer, i started to go to the gym and i actually grew boobs. i'm tan and my dirty blonde hair as gotten more blonde over the year. my eyes always stayed the same shade of blue, but i've definitely gotten prettier.
i finish packing and close my suitcase. if i was being completely honest i was terrified to see the hughes, i had a huge crush on jack since i was 12, but id never admit that. i get in pajamas and get in bed falling asleep.
i woke up at 9:15 and got ready. i got in in denim shorts and a UMICH hoodie. i brought my bag downstairs and brought it to the car. "are you excited to see the boys lexi?" my mom always teased me about jack.
i roll my eyes and get in the front seat. "i guess" she laughs and starts driving. 3 hours later we finally arrive after what feels like forever. i get out of the car and ellen runs to hug my mom. after she's finished hugging my mom she makes her way to me.
"oh my gosh lexi you're stunning! you always have been...but wow!" she says and squeezes me in a hug "thanks ellen" i smile and grab my bag. "don't worry about your bag sweetie, i'll tell luke to come get it" i nod and walk inside.
i notice jack and quinn sitting on the couch playing nhl 24. "hey guys" i smile nervously. they look up from the game like children and their eyes widen when they see me. "lexi, oh my god hey" jack gets up and runs to hug me. "hey jack" i laugh and walk over to quinn to hug him.
"wow you've...grown" quinn says shamelessly. i'm 18, jack and i are the same age. quinn's 21 and lukes only 16. "yeah, you have" jack agrees with quinn.
"nice umich hoodie" quinn softly punches my arm. "thanks" i look down at my feet, it was so awkward with them, i couldn't tell why. "some of the boys are coming over later, you don't mind that right?" jack asks. i shake my head "great, you'll like them" he smiles
i could watch jack smile all day long, he was always my favorite. i snap out of watching jack and nod "yeah i bet i will, im gonna bring my stuff to my room" i run outside and grab my bag ignoring what ellen said about luke taking my bag. i run upstairs and close the door behind me.
"dudeeeee she is hot" quinn says once im upstairs "shut up quinn" "ooouu jacks mad" "am not, its just weird to talk about her like that" quinn snickers "she's all yours" jack laughs and looks at quinn "and who says i want her?" "just saying if you wanted her you can have her"
jack rolls his eyes and looks at the tv "she is hot" he mumbles and quinn laughs at his comment "come on jack, you've liked her since you were 14, go for it" he shakes his head "she won't want me" "um yes she will, she's been fan girling over you since she was 10"
"i have all summer to do it okay!" "alright man" they both drop it and continue to play their game. luke walks in and sits down at the couch "lexis here?" he asks "yup" quinn responds "for how long, why did no one tell me" he frowns and his brothers both laugh at him "shes in her room go say hi, but be careful" quinn says
"be careful, what why?" luke asks cluelessly "cus you might get blinded by her face card" he laughs and punches jack in the arm. jack rolls his eyes "ignore him" luke walks upstairs and knocks on my door. it still has the same sign from 8 years ago reading "lexis room, no boys allowed"
"come in!" luke opens the door and walks in "oh my god, Quinn wasn't lying" i tilt my head and a look of confusion takes over my face "uhh nothing nothing, but lexi you look great how are you" i get up and hug luke "im good lukey, how's hockey" he sits on my bed and sighs.
"it's a lot" i laugh and sit down next to him "i bet it is" "how's softball? how's being the star of NCAA" "softballs great, being D1 isn't for the weak" he laughs and leans back "trust me i know" "you're not in college buddy" we both laugh.
"i basically am!" i shrug and push him over "i have a game this weekend, it's my last one and it's a 20 minute drive from the lake house, you guys should come" "that sounds fun, can't wait to see how bad you do" "get out fatty"
i joke and push luke out of my room, i point to the sign "no boys allowed" i giggle and close the door. it was nice being back.
