Lily

"I'll kill you...if you touch me again", I glare at him, pushing his hand away.

How dare he kiss me? That's about the last thing I expected this devil to do, and yet, what I should have anticipated from someone like him. He's always pushed boundaries, tested limits. But this? This was a declaration of war.

"You'll have to kill me to stop me, Lily", He smirks.

Oh I've already killed you thrice in my mind. But now I only want to make it real. I envision the life draining from his eyes, his smug smirk twisted in agony.

"Enough!!", A voice interrupts, as we all look in the direction of the familiar voice. Kaden Valverde.

Zyran grasps his brother's shoulder, pulling him back. "Back off, Ayren."

Kaden steps between us, his expression stern. His eyes blazing with a warning, daring Caffareli to push his luck. But that bastard just smirks, his eyes glinting with amusement. Kaden's jaw clenches, his fists flexing at his sides. I know that look - its the prelude to the violence.

He moves closer, his hand extends, reaching out to mine, "Let's go", He holds my hands, gently guiding me away from them.

He shrugs off Zyran's grip. "This isn't over, Lily."

I spin around, my eyes flashing. "It's far from over."

Kaden glares at me, but doesn't say anything. And I know I have to shut up now. I walk away scanning the area, searching for potential witnesses. The fewer who know. The better.

He leads me out of the elite bar, leaving the chaos behind.

"Get inside" , He orders, opening the door of the car. I step into the car, his eyes flash with anger as he slams the door shut behind me. I've never seen him this angry before. Fair enough, I've never done something like this before as well.

"What were you thinking, Lily?" Kaden demands, his voice low and menacing, as he takes his seat.

I recoil, taken aback by his intensity. "What do you mean?"

"Don't play dumb," Kaden growls, starting the engine with a jerk. "You know exactly what I'm talking about"

My heart sinks, realizing Kaden saw the exchange. "He and the black Dawn need a warning"

The car lurches forward, Kaden's grip on the wheel tightening. "And you get to decide to put your life in danger like that"

I bristle at his tone. "You don't get to decide what's dangerous for me."

Kaden's eyes flash with frustration. "Someone needs to, since you're clearly not thinking clearly."

The drive becomes tense and silent, and Kaden's anger makes the air thick with unspoken words. The soft hum of the engine and Kaden's tense silence envelop me.

The sun begins its descent, casting a warm orange glow across the landscape. I don't know but there is something magical about the sunsets and skies that always calms me down. This time I'm witnessing the breathtaking beauty of the western side of Valdoria for the very time. I take out my phone and click a picture of the sun setting on the horizon of the Vitalus river, completely ignoring angry kaden sitting behind me. I save the photo in my sky pictures folders.
