I first saw her on a regular day, surrounded by people and noise, the usual chaos. That’s what it felt like.

Gusto mo bang umupo rito?
I offered, tapping the empty seat beside me. She smiled, this simple, effortless smile, and suddenly, ang ingay sa paligid parang biglang humupa.

She sat down, not knowing she was becoming my world right at that moment.

Parang automatic, hindi ko naman sinasadya, pero each time, I found myself captivated. Alam kong she could feel it, how my gaze lingered, how I’d get lost in the way her eyes sparkled with curiosity, or how her smile seemed like the only answer I’d ever need.

May problema ka ba? she asked one time, catching me off guard.

Time went by, and soon, she became my peace amidst the storm. Kahit pagod na pagod ako, one look at her, and everything else felt worth it. She was my constant in a world that always seemed to be changing. She was there, bringing calm, kahit parang hindi niya napapansin ang epekto niya sa akin.

One day, I gathered the courage to tell her. We were sitting by the quiet, looking at the sky as the sun was setting. Alam kong ito na 'yung chance ko.

Alam mo, I started, keeping my eyes on the fading light.

She looked at me, her gaze soft but questioning. I felt my heart race, realizing that I’d finally let her see what I’d been hiding all this time.

She was quiet for a moment, her eyes meeting mine. It was in that silence, in that simple gaze, that I felt something shift—between us, or maybe just in me.

Finally, she replied softly, Tingin lang pala, kaya mo na akong gawing mundo mo.

And I just smiled, kasi kahit hindi siya sigurado ngayon, I knew someday, she’d understand. Until then, I'd keep looking, keep waiting, knowing that my gaze would always find its way back to her.

The End.
