Hello, another one shot where my intrusive thoughts take over wanting to grab the perfect opportunity to built onto my current favourite trauma x trauma ship.

This one is based off Yeh Hain Mohabbatein and the current Ghum storyline of Isha's accident, the perfect way to move forward with their love story and if the production house doesn't give it to us, well there is always us :)

...

Savi stepped out of the hospital room, a frown encased on her forehead. She turned around, eyes landing on her husband who was sitting on the floor, right next to the hospital chairs.

"What happened?" Rajat asked and Savi looked annoyed, shoulders sagging and he was a little relieved that she seemed okay now. Her mother had woken up once an hour ago, much to the family's relief, "The nurse kicked me out."

Rajat huffed out a chuckle, raising his free hand in the air, the other one holding onto a cup of tea, "So, come sit. It is not like you can do a lot right now."

"But, I don't want to–" Rajat gave her a look and Savi sighed, dropping her hand in his. He gently pulled her and Savi sat down on the floor, eyes scrunching in frustration when she had to make an extra effort to fix her lehenga. Letting go of his hand, she began to play around with the golden frills on her outfit, head turning once again to gaze at the hospital room door longingly.

"Hey," He whispered again, grabbing her attention, "She'll be okay. We're right outside." He assured her and she still looked worried, "Savi. Trust me." His tone was affirmative and Savi looked hesitant.

Rajat gently pulled the styrofoam cups held in his hand apart, setting the second one aside. Carefully, he poured steaming tea from the first cup into the second one and extended it with a warm smile, "Here."

"Thank you." Savi smiled a little, not saying much, eyes looking a little lost in thought. Her left hand continued to fidget with her lehenga, an obvious sign of anxiety.

"Why do you women wear these lehengas when you can't handle it?" Rajat teased in an effort to break the ice and Savi looked at him, surprised, "What do you mean? Today is a festival and I can handle it just fine actually. You made me sit on the floor when there are chairs here–" She raised her eyes, trying to divert his attention towards them.

"Yeah," His smile was sheepish, "My back–" He pointed towards it, "Does not agree with that."

Savi scoffed, "Maybe you're getting old."

"Please," Rajat became defensive, "Still young and handsome, by the way." Savi chuckled a little, looking away as she sipped the tea in her hand, "Young and handsome." She echoed and Rajat smiled a little, grateful that she was getting momentarily distracted but soon—silence surrounded them again, both of their eyes trailing down different paths. Unsure how to handle this situation.

"Sav–"

"Raj–"

Both of them started at the same time, Rajat's expression softening instantly, "Yeah?" Willing to do anything that would make this easier for her.

She looked at him earnestly, "Thank you." And Rajat frowned, "For?"

Savi sighed, "Saving her." She leaned towards him involuntarily, "I owe you so much. You found her just in time—" Her voice cracked, "Saved her."

For a brief moment, she allowed herself to wonder what would have happened had her mother not would have made it here. Alone, abandoned on the street, blood oozing out of her head—no sign of help.

Dead. Just like her parents—just like everyone.

"Please," Rajat cut through her thoughts, "Isn't she my mother too?" He too leaned closer and smiled, "Fortunately for you. Unfortunately for me," And Savi rolled her eyes, shoving him slightly, "We're married—so your family is mine too."
