Bestfriend to Boyfriend (Sophia and Louis)

Tears fall down your cheeks as you drive through the rain to your best friends Louis’ house. Your boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend with a capital EX, for 2 years had been cheating on you with his ex.

You just caught them in your once shared bed. The car parked outside Louis’ home and you wiped your eyes, trying to forget about Adam. Louis had heard your car pull up and was standing in the doorway smiling. You emerged from your car and it instantly disappeared as he came over to you, meeting you halfway up the lawn.

“What happened?” He asked, wiping your cheeks of a few tears that had slipped.

“Adam…” Was all you got out before the tears came again. Louis wrapped his arms around you and rubbed your back, letting you cry a few minute into his chest before leading you into the house. He sits you down on the couch and runs off to the kitchen to make tea. His favorite blanket sat rumpled up in the corner, where he was before you came. You grabbed it and wrapped it around you as the tears slowed. Louis returned with the cup and sat down next to you, letting you calm down more before asking questions.

“What happened? What did this bastard do to you Sophia? I swear I will kill him.” Louis never liked Adam to begin with and always tried to prove to you he was no good.

“It’s pointless Lou. He never cared about me. I’m an idiot for thinking so.”

“No, You’re not an idiot.”Louis moved so he was facing you better.

“Yes, I am. You don’t know what it’s like to love someone and have that person not truly love you back.”

Lou sighed” I wouldn’t be so sure.”

“Who is she? She probably loves you.. You just haven’t asked her yet.”

“She’s a great friend, who I wish would see me more than this. I’m just scared it will ruin our friendship if I ask her.”

“Call her up and ask her. Any girl would love to be with you. If it doesn’t work, her loss.”

“Really?” His face lights up “ Okay.”

He pulls out his phone and begins dialing a number. As he puts his to his ear yours starts to vibrate. You answer it without looking at the number.

“Hello?”

“Sophia, I’ve loved you a very long time and it hurt me to see him treat you like he has and knowing I could treat you so much better. Will you please be my girlfriend?” You sat a minute quiet and you looked over at Louis,  who smiled sheepishly in return.

How could you have never seen it before. Louis was always making sure you were okay and being there when Adam wasn’t. He always hung out with you knowing everything you liked to your favorite nail polish color.

You feel your cheeks blush deep red , stammering for an answer. Lou shakes his head looking down.

“I knew I shouldn’t have asked. I’m sorry, Sophia.”

“Yes”

“What?” He turns to you a little shocked.

“Yes. I will.”You say smiling. Louis’ smile returns and he wraps you in a hug, squeezing you tightly.

“Lou. Can’t breath” You say between gasps.

He lets go and looks you in the eyes” I swear I will never do anything to hurt you. Ever.”

Looking into his eyes you knew he was sincere.
