I met a guy who became my knight and shining armor; he became my frenemy. Since then, I've had friends because of him. But everything changed when I encountered a boastful, cold-hearted guy. Almost all the girls were swooning over him. Because of his arrogance, I was embarrassed, and he didn't apologize, thinking he's above everyone since he's rich.
I ignored him whenever we crossed paths.
One day, I had a terrible morning: I was chased by a dog, and a vehicle splashed mud on my uniform. When I arrived at Del Luna's University, I immediately changed clothes.
"Psyche, what happened to you? You're sweating," Hades asked, wiping my forehead.
"I overslept, got chased by a dog, and got mud on my uniform," I replied, feeling sad.
Hades laughed and teased, "What's so funny?"
"My first day was okay until I met someone even colder than you," I said.
"Good-looking?" Hades asked with a smile.
"Angelic face, but opposite attitude, like you," I joked.
Hades rolled his eyes and said, "I'm different from him!"
My friends, Hades and the others, were my everything. But my freedom was short-lived, as they forced me to agree to an arranged marriage to a man I'd never met. I had no choice; money mattered most to them.
I never believed in love because of my past heartache. I hated myself for being foolish in love.
FLASHBACK
"Where are you?" I asked my boyfriend over the phone.
I decided to surprise him at his condo, but I was the one surprised. I saw him with my best friend.
I confronted them, angry and hurt.
"You're despicable! How long have you been lying to me?"
My ex-boyfriend said, "She's my original girlfriend; everything was planned."
I felt betrayed and hurt.
"Friendship is over," I said, turning my back on them.
"Happy 2nd year anniversary, babe. Goodbye, be happy."
I vowed never to fall in love again.
END OF FLASHBACK
Hades noticed my tears and asked, "Zyenlie, what's wrong?"
I brushed it off, "Nothing, just memories."
My friends cheered me up, "We're here for you."
We joked and laughed together.
Later, Cynthia glared at me, and I ignored her. She was watching my every move.
My friends and I saw Cynthia arguing with my ex-best friend, Fia. Cynthia insulted Fia, who fought back.
My friends and I found it entertaining, betting on who would win.
The SSLG president intervened, and Fia and Cynthia were taken to the guidance office.
Cynthia finally met her match.
