The boat ride back to civilization was a whirlwind of emotions. As the waves rocked them gently, Orm felt a mixture of exhilaration and apprehension. Ling sat close beside her, their fingers intertwined, but Orm couldn't shake the unease settling in her chest. The reality of returning home began to sink in, and with it, the weight of the unresolved feelings surrounding Wachana.

Once they reached the shore, the rescue team greeted them with cheers and applause. Cameras flashed, and the press swarmed as they stepped onto solid ground. Orm felt overwhelmed by the sudden flood of people, all eager to document their return. Ling, however, kept her focus on Orm, her eyes sparkling with excitement and relief.

"Welcome back!" a familiar voice shouted, and Orm turned to see her friends Prikhing, Yeena, and Mint standing among the crowd, their expressions a mixture of joy and concern. The sight of them filled Orm with warmth, but it quickly faded as she recalled the heaviness in her heart.

"Orm!" Prikhing called, rushing forward with open arms. Orm felt an instant surge of affection for her friend as she enveloped her in a tight hug. "I was so worried! We all were!"

Ying, who was standing beside Prikhing, jumped into the embrace as well, her eyes wide with relief. "You're a hero! Seriously, you survived an island adventure. We need to celebrate and also thank you for returning my best friend!" Ying who was referring to Ling.

As Orm took a step back, she felt a whirlwind of emotions as Yeena and Mint joined the group, their faces glowing with excitement. "We can't believe you're back! We've missed you!" Mint exclaimed.

While Orm reveled in the joy of being reunited with her friends, her gaze wandered to Ling, who stood surrounded by her own group. Gap and Fluke also with Ying, Ling's close friends, were also among the welcoming crowd, but it was Wachana who caught Orm's attention.

Then, out of nowhere, Wachana broke through the throng, her eyes locked on Ling. "Ling!" she called out, her voice tinged with a mix of excitement and urgency.

Orm's breath caught in her throat as she saw Wachana run toward them. Instinctively, she let go of Ling's hand, feeling a painful ache settle in her chest. As Wachana reached Ling, she pulled her in for a tight hug, their chemistry palpable. Orm's heart shattered at the sight, the warmth of their reunion piercing her like a cold blade. She felt suddenly small and insignificant, standing in the shadow of their history, overwhelmed by the realization that Ling might not keep her promise of breaking things off with Wachana.

"I missed you so much!" Wachana said, her voice shaky as she pulled back to look at Ling. "I was so worried! I'm so glad you're back in one piece."

Before Orm could process the moment, Wachana leaned in and kissed Ling softly on the lips. Orm's heart shattered at the sight, the warmth of their reunion piercing her like a cold blade. She felt suddenly small and insignificant, standing in the shadow of their history, overwhelmed by the realization that Ling might not keep her promise of breaking things off with Wachana.

Ling returned the kiss with a mixture of surprise and affection, her eyes lighting up in a way that made Orm's heart clench painfully. As Wachana pulled back, she looked at Ling with a tenderness that felt like a knife to Orm's heart. "I was so scared I'd lost you forever," Wachana murmured, her gaze softening.

Orm stood frozen, watching the exchange unfold like a spectator in her own life. Doubts crept in like a dark cloud, suffocating the hope that had blossomed between her and Ling during their time on the island. Had their connection meant so little? Would Ling truly go back to Wachana, abandoning the bond they had forged?

Feeling an ache in her chest, Orm turned away, forcing herself to breathe through the rising tide of sorrow. She couldn't bear to watch Ling smile at Wachana, the woman she had been with before, while Orm felt like a fleeting moment in Ling's life.

Prikhing, noticing Orm's distress, stepped closer. "Hey, are you okay?" she asked, concern etched on her features.

Orm forced a smile, but it felt hollow. "Yeah, I'm fine," she lied, her voice barely above a whisper. "Just... overwhelmed, I guess."

As the joy of reunion enveloped Ling and her friends, Orm felt the distance between them expand, the hope she had clung to slipping away with each passing moment. She realized that the battle for Ling's heart was only just beginning.

As Orm stood at the edge of the gathering, watching Ling with Wachana, she felt the weight of uncertainty settle heavily on her shoulders. Would Ling choose to stay with her, or would Wachana's shadow cast a pall over everything they had built together?

The thrill of their adventure was fading, replaced by a stark reality. Orm fought to keep her tears at bay, knowing that this was just the beginning of a complex battle for the love she desperately wanted to hold onto.
