(TAYLOR'S POV)
Today I'm taking Haley shopping out in New York. When I told her, she seemed to get a little eager. It'll be a great way to bond with her. It feels as if she's uncomfortable. That's normal, I'd expect, but I really want to make her feel at home.
It's almost 9, and that's when we plan to leave. I have on a flannel with simple gray skinny jeans and these shiny brown heeled ankle boots. Also, I wear a red cross body purse. The usual red lipstick is applied, and now it's just time to get Haley.
I knock on her door. "Good morning Haley? You ready?"
She opens the door. "Yeah," she responds.
We head down the elevator and out the door. Only one paparazzi. He snaps a few pics, but we head in the opposite direction. "Are you hungry? There's an excellent cafe up the street here."
"A little bit. Sounds good."
We travel up the street and enter the cafe on the left corner. A short line awaits us. I order a vanilla latte with a buttered croissant, and she gets a blueberry muffin with water.
Once we get our breakfast, we sit down at a little table out side. The same guy comes around and snaps some more photos. I'll be seeing them on Tumblr later. "Don't mind him," I say. "There's usually only one or two when you walk around out in the city, and they don't say too much."
She shrugs and crumples up her napkin. I take the last bite of my croissant and throw my napkins and cup away.
"Taylor!" A voice calls from behind me. I turn around and immediately recognize her from Tumblr. She's with her dad, who's been in a video of her dancing for a few seconds.
"Mikaela, right?" She nods excitedly. "Omg awesome running into you here!"
She gets up and hugs me. Quite tight, in fact. We chat for a few minutes. It turns out I've liked 4 of her posts, but haven't followed yet. Not wanting to forget, I pull out my phone, search her blog name, and follow. I watch her screenshot it from her phone. Her dad sits back and smiles the whole time.
We take selfies and Haley is invited into them as well. "So, Haley, how is it living with Taylor?" Mikaela asks her.
"Pretty cool. We're about to go get some shopping done."
"Cool." We all take a few selfies and I autograph her 1989 phone case. She hugs me again. "Well, have fun shopping," she says. "Bye Taylor!"
"Bye Mikaela! It was awesome meeting you!"
After that, we head down the corner to where some of my favorite shops are.
(HALEY'S POV)
I don't know what to expect for shopping. All her outfits are pretty mature, and then again, I don't know if I like that kind of stuff. We enter the first store. "If you see anything you like, then tell me and we'll try it on. And don't think about the cost, either. I'll look at some stuff for you, too."
There's quite a bit of crop tops here. I've never been too comfortable with showing off my stomach. I take a look through the racks on the side, but don't see anything. I head to the store's other side, but I don't find much. I do see a simple black skirt that I like. It won't look good on me, though.
"Do you like that?" She asks. I nod. "Well, try it on." I shrug and go to the back. I take of my jeans and put it on. I like it, and it looks better than I expected. "Let me see!" Taylor calls from outside.
Reluctantly, I push aside the curtain. Her eyes light up. "That's cute. Do you like it on you?"
"Yeah. Can you get the white one, too?" She nods and comes back with it. I try it on and decide I like it too. I head out with my jeans back on. Taylor pays and we go to the next store.
