my alarm rang and my eyes shot open, i slowly sat up and yawned i had to be at Papa Johns in 2 hours and my Doberman Pinscher was barking loudly,

"shh its just my alarm teddy" 

I say to my dog who was lying next to me but now he was alert on the floor by my bedroom door. once i spoke to him he started calm down and i turned off my alarm, and sit fully up and stretch. i uncovered my bare legs, and slipped my black slippers and, went to the bathroom, i looked at myself in the mirror... yikes I looked rough, my hair was messy my thin tank top strap fell off my shoulder and i shivered at the thought of myself then chuckled a little and look down to teddy who was sitting at the bathroom door,

"Shut it I know I look rough"

i say to the dog even though he didn't understand me half the time his head tilt to the side and i shake my head and grabbed my toothbrush and started brushing my teeth, after Into my uniform, and put my hair in a claw clip,  I took Teddy out for his morning walk, and when i got back i let him inside, letting him roam free, while i went to work, I started walking down the block to the papa john's building thankfully my apartment wasn't to far from the building, I got to the doors and as soon as I walked into the building tension grew in the atmosphere, shit, I thought... our higher ups were here because of Emily...A few days ago she got snappy with a customer and they had a yelling match about pizzas, I looked around the building before realizing i was standing in the way of customers so i got out of the way to the back going to one of my work "friends" to see what was going on,

"What's going on lily?" i asked the employee who around 5'5 skinny with hazel eyes and a roman nose, she thought it was ugly but i loved it... she was the only one i could tolerate here...

"Emilies big mouth fucking got her fired so before she left she made a mess in the kitchen and yelled at customers making me work over time..." lily sounded frustrated and i frown slightly "I'm surprised she didn't get fired sooner" she chuckled and i smiled, "Hey i can take over the rest of noon shift i know you have to get the kids and everything" I smiled lily was a mom of two, her husband was a piece of shit father but was there for the kids.... most of the times anyway...she smiled at me "If you don't mind hun.." she said putting her hand on my should and i smiled, "of course go to your kids" I say...I was really doing this for the money, i needed it of course...lily gave me a big hug and I hugged her back and looked at the paperclip necklace i never took off. She frowned knowing the meaning behind it but her face brightened then walked out of papa johns, I kept my composer for the rest of my shifts, Of course there were rude customers, but the worst one was Mr. Thompson, He was in his mid 40s greasy hair, looked to old for his age, and was a pain in my ass, he ordered 3 peps, 1 cheese, 1 meet lovers, and 1 supreme, which was a lot on me being the worker cooking, cutting and prepping the pizzas, i could hear him shit talking me, for some reason it didnt bother me, but was did was the sudden deep voice i heard from the front counter i leaned up to see who it was... it was a tall handsome man, amber eyes, a grimace on his thin lips, he also who had hand tattoos from what i could see, he wore a suit and his black hair was in his eyes a little bit, three men in all black suits stayed by his side.. he was handsome... until he spoke...

"6 peps now" he said in a demanding tone, and all attraction flooded away...men...always ruining with their attitudes... I see that the cashier was getting nervous, so I took over "okay so 6 pepperonis? anything else?" i kept my voice soft but professional with a hint of an edge i looked up at the man who probably stood 6'5 maybe 6'6, he didn't intimate me one bit... "yes that's what i said. if its not done in the next 25 minutes I'm leaving" he said and i tried my best not to scoff and roll my eyes i keep it professional and give him a smile "of course sir, right away" i stepped back as soon as he went to sit down and the men followed him, i went back to cooking all 6 pep pizzas the best and fastest way possible once the pizzas are boxed i read the name out loud "Rowan! Order for Rowan" i finished and he made his way over grabbed a couple hundreds out and put it in my hand. "Keep the change i know you need it" now....that caught me off guard...what did he mean by that but before i could answer he was gone... and i went back to working...
