Two days later Blake, Captain Robuck, and Police Union Representative Mark Kellog arrived at the BPD Internal Investigations offices and checked in for their appointment with Investigator Cullens.

"Investigator Cullens, I'm Union Rep Kellog, and you already know Captain Roebuck and Sergeant Blake. I've talked with your captain and informed him of your improper line of questioning of both Sergeant Blake and Officer Shinagawa, who is waiting in the lounge area should we need his testimony."

"Yes, I was spoken to by the captain and he told me to limit the scope of my investigation to the current series of events. However, for the record, I believe that MSRT, under the leadership of Captain Roebuck, is a fully corrupt organization and therefore taints Sergeant Blake by association. I don't think I need any more in the way of testimony today. Having already reviewed the case, all of the provided evidence, and the circumstances. My findings are that due, in part, of the corruption of her ex-husband, and the continued favoritism of Captain Roebuck, Sergeant Sari Blake is no longer suitable for employment by the Birmingham Police Department under any department or position. She is there for stripped of her rank and job and is no longer a member of the BPD." Cullens said with a sadistic grin.

"We'll be appealing this up to the commissioner's office. Your bias against members of the MSRT is well documented and has been a black mark on your record once before." Said Kellog, "We're done here."

"Good luck with your appeal. The appellate board is currently backed up by eight to ten months with all of the contested behaviors that took place during the Event and its aftermath. If you're lucky you won't be bankrupt by the time your appeal, but I very much doubt it. Have a wonderful day." He said as he closed the case folder and stamped it with a red case closed stamper.

Blake and company left the office and picked up Shinagawa on the way out. "How did it go?" asked Shinagawa as they walked out of the building.

"Son of a bitch fired me." Said Blake bitterly, "He said that MSRT is corrupt and that because of that and the Roger situation, I'm no longer suitable as a police officer. Smug bastard all but laughed about it."

Kellog spoke next, "We'll win it on appeal with no problems. He's got it out for the captain, he all but said as much. He does have a point though. Getting your case through the appeals process is going to take a while, it could wind up being a year by the time it is all said and done. We'll make sure your retirement stays intact in the meantime, but all the benefits, like health insurance, are going to wind up being suspended while we're waiting for your case to come up. You'll be eligible for back pay when it does finally go through, but in the meantime I'm sorry, but there's not a lot we can do. I'll start the paperwork as soon as I get back to the office and see if there is any way I can get it expedited."

"He's got a hard-on for taking apart the special units." Said Roebuck, "It won't be long before that bites him in the ass, trust me on that."

"So, in the meantime, we what, just roll over and take it?" asked Shinagawa.

"He slit his own throat in a way, he removed her from the police force but didn't remove any chance for employment as an outside contractor. I'll contact Donner and see about him bringing you on as a special consultant for the Roger Blake case and I'll file a request for you to be brought on as an asset for the special missions for unit seventeen. It won't have any benefits but it'll keep you getting paid and between that and your shifts at the Pipe it should keep you afloat until this is all resolved." Spoke Roebuck.

"Thank you, captain. I appreciate all of what you are doing, and I'll gladly keep working with both you and SSA Donner on the case and the special task force." Said Blake as they arrived back at their cars.
