Stolen Dreams

She dances in the light, while I linger in shade,
Her laughter echoes freely, a melody played.
I built my dreams high, crafted from the stars,
Yet she steps in my path, and my light fades to scars.

It's not envy I feel, just a weariness deep,
A heaviness in my heart that robs me of sleep.
She takes what was promised, my hopes in her hands,
While I stand on the sidelines, lost in shifting sands.

I know I can't fight it, her glow is their prize,
In their eyes, I'm a shadow, unseen in disguise.
Each day feels like endless, a cycle of pain,
As I tread through this life, in a storm without rain.

I'm tired of battles that I cannot win,
Of dreams turned to whispers, where hope wears thin.
My spirit is weary, my courage all spent,
In a world that feels empty, where joy won't relent.

I yearn for the silence, the quiet of peace,
To escape from this turmoil, to find my release.
But here I am anchored, chained by their love,
While she soars like a bird, free as the dove.

So I breathe in the darkness, wear my heavy sighs,
Counting the moments, with tears in my eyes.
For this life feels so hollow, a labyrinth tight,
And I'm lost in the shadows, searching for light.
