Beppu, Japan - Fifty Years Ago - 2023
The sun set over Beppu, a city known for its hot springs. People enjoyed the peaceful evening, unaware of the danger below.
Deep underground in Beppu, scientists worked on a secret project. Once they started the machine. Suddenly, alarms sounded. "Shut it down!" shouted a scientist, But it was too late.
An explosion shook the ground. People paused, puzzled by the strange explosion. A dark purple fog poured out from cracks in the earth. On the streets, people coughed and struggled to breathe as the fog spread quickly.
A young girl held her mother's hand tight. "What's happening?" she cried. "We have to get to safety," her mother yelled, pulling her along.
From the fog, silent figures emerged. They looked human but moved unnaturally. Their eyes glowed faintly in the dim light.
Panic spread as the figures began attacking. A man tried to run but was grabbed. The figure's grip crushed his arm with a brutal snap.
A woman screamed as another figure approached. It slashed at her with sharp, claw-like hands, leaving deep wounds. She fell, and the figure moved on without hesitation.
The fog kept spreading, covering cities, lands, sea and ultimately the whole planet. People fled to high places and built Sky Havens, cities floating above the clouds.
The real cause of the disaster was never known.
This is where the story begins. A journey to uncover hidden truths, the cause of the fog, and the challenge of saving humanity.
