Music pounded in the air at Dorian's Gray room, thrumming in my veins. The area around the bar had been converted into a makeshift dance floor and bodies crowded together grinding and twisting to the rhythm that had us all under its spell.
Sex, glitter, and liquor.
The younger members of the coven had seized the club for ourselves and we owned the night. Even Sabrina joined us. Nick was proving to be quite the influence on her.
Adrian pulled me closer, his hands remained respectfully on my waist as I swayed my hips to the music. He leaned closer and the smell of his cologne mixed with the whiskey on his lips was intoxicating. Despite all of the writhing bodies around us it was as though we were the only two people in the room. A hot flush settled over me when his breath fanned over my neck. I let out a sigh of relief when the song changed, breaking us from the moment.
"I'm going to go get us a drink," He murmured darkly in my ear, his pupils blown wide. I nodded breathlessly as he left.
"Must I tell you why that's a bad idea?" Ambrose panted as he joined me in leaving the dance floor.
"We're just friends, Ambrose," I frowned.
"Maybe you should make him aware of that," He suggested as we took a seat on the sofas set closest to the fireplace.
The Weird Sisters joined us. Prudence practically sat in his lap and her sisters perched on the back of the couch but all three's intentions were clear.
"Must I tell you why that is a bad idea, Cousin?" I quipped.
Adrian joined us, handing me a scotch as he slid in next to me placing a loose arm over my shoulder. He wore black trousers that fit far better than they should've and his black button up hung open with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. His tattoos were on full display and I found myself remembering all the times I'd traced over them memorizing every line. He smirked when he caught me staring. "See something you like?"
He then made a point of allowing his eyes to travel up my toned thighs to the ridiculously short dress I wore. The sparkly black material reflected the firelight and the low hanging neckline left little to the imagination. "I certainly do."
"Careful, Blackwood," I smirked. It was a dangerous game that he was playing and I don't think he fully comprehended who his competitor was.
Sabrina and Nick were the last ones to take their seats. A look of shock mixed with disgust crossed her features at the very public display that Ambrose and Prudence were putting on with their tongues down each other's throats.
"Ambrose. Won't Luke get jealous about you and Prudence?" She laughed nervously.
Prudence continued to kiss along the column of his neck while he paid special attention to the girls above him with attention as they giggled and pressed a kiss to Agatha's hand. "Luke's out of town on a mission for Father Blackwood."
"Oh, loosen up, Sabrina. We're just getting warmed up for Lupercalia, if you even know what that is," Prudence smirked.
"It's witches' Valentine's Day, right?" She questioned naively.
"Lupercalia coincides with mortal Valentine's Day, yes. But in my opinion it's just a lot of hype," Nick told her.
I was surprised by Nick's words considering his...dedication...to the holiday in years past. It was like a right of passage for a witch or warlock.
"Oh, please, Nick. Sabrina's not so naive and innocent as all that," Prudence taunted. "No one is after signing the Dark Lord's Book of the Beast."
I could see the questions running through Sabrina's young mind as she looked at all of us and gave a small smile to Nick.
