This is based on when mia and deliah were still seeing each other and mia came over to deliahs for the night.

Deliah sat alone in her room, her eyes fixated on her phone waiting for her Mia to text her back, it had been another week now and she was slowly losing hope.

"she loves me doesn't she?" Deliah quietly whispered to the doll placed carefully on the drawers next to her phone. She believed the dolls spoke back to her and they were listening to anything had to say. To Deliahs surprise her phone lit up and she snatched it with hope it was from the only person she wanted so desperately to see.

my mia 🤍
deedee, im coming over x

Deliah giggled and jumped with joy and looked at her dolls "see babies, I knew she wouldn't forget me!". She had about an hour until Mia would arrive, but this was the first time Mia was coming to hers, deliah had only ever gone to Mia's house. she sprinted over to the mirror and put her hair up into 2 high pigtails and secured them with pretty pink bows, she knew she had to look perfect or she would fear that Mia would no longer love her. She threw on her everyday beige outfit and did her makeup carefully avoiding making any mistakes.

She had finally finished getting ready, she looked at all of her dolls and one by one started making every single one look perfect for Mia to see when she arrived. Deliah took pride in her doll collection and couldn't wait to show her, she was really excited and thought Mia would also be interested in her dolls. She had no idea that it would be the thing that ended up breaking her heart.

Deliah spent ages making every doll look as neat as she did, every single one had a different theme. She had little outfits for every single one, she brushed all of their hair, making sure they were clean and took care of them like they were children. Her babies.

Deliah sat patiently waiting for the knock at the door, Mia was due to arrive any second and she couldn't contain her excitement, she kept giggling quietly to herself as she admired her dolls. Would Mia look at them the way that she does?

Deliah frowned as it had hit an hour and Mia still hadn't showed up, was she coming? Deliah didn't like it when plans weren't on time, she loved to be perfect, the thought of not being perfect haunted her, so much to the point she even wanted me to view her the same way. Her whole life no one viewed her as 'perfect' and she was always seen as an outcast and didn't fit into the social norms. When Mia came along she knew she had finally found her definition of perfect and just wanted mia to love her back the same way. As Deliah grew older she just wanted one person to view her the way she viewed others. Deliah had so much love to give but no one to give it to, until Mia came along. She promised herself to give her the love she couldn't give to anyone else. Mia had given her a chance when no one else would.

Deliah finally snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of a loud knock at the door. Deliah jumped up and practically fell down the stairs getting to the front door. She swung it open and threw her arms around Mia, she got embarrassed when Mia didn't match her energy. She backed away a tiny bit giving her space. "Sorry, I'm just really excited to see you." Mia nodded in response. Deliah remembered she had to show her something and gently took her hand "because it's your first time at my house, I have something to show you, I hope you like them" Mia turned to look at Deliah, slightly confused "what is it?". Deliah didn't want to give it away too much "you'll see". Mia felt slightly uneasy because she knew Deliah had a reputation of hoarding things when they were at school but she was unsure if it was just kids being cruel.

As they made their way upstairs, Deliah led Mia by the hand into her bedroom. Mia walked in and gasped at the sight of all the dolls lined up one by one, there must have been at least 100. Mia instantly felt quite taken back. Deliah snapped her out of it when she asked "do you like my babies?" Mia felt sick "your babies? What is going on deedee? You never told me about any of this?" Mia mumbled. "Of course I didn't! It wouldn't be a surprise if I had told you!" Deliah giggled. "Deliah, they are creepy, this isn't normal behaviour" Deliahs smile quickly decreased, what did she mean? Wasn't she perfect enough?

Before Deliah could respond, Mia was gone leaving her alone once again. She sat quietly on her bed as her eyes filled with tears wondering what she had done wrong. Deliah didn't see anything wrong with her collection, she thought Mia would love them just as much as she did. Deliah gently picked up one of the dolls and stroked its cheek as a tear rolled off her own staining the dolls face. She held the doll close to her chest, they made her feel less alone. Even as a child when no one wanted to be around her, the dolls couldn't leave, they would stay by her side and listen to all of her thoughts everyone else found insane. She put the doll down and picked up her phone and messaged Mia, apologising for not being perfect. She felt like she had failed yet another person. She sobbed quietly to herself cradling her dolls.

She had messed up everything. Again.
