Rodolphus didn't stick around too much longer after that to give me time to settle in though he did mention that their personal designer would be by tomorrow to get me fitted for a new wardrobe. One that he said was to befit my status as the future Lady Lestrange.
It wasn't something I was exactly looking forward to.
'You deserve this and more,' stated Marvolo as he appeared once more at my side as I settled in the study and looked over the books filling the shelves. 'A portion of these came from my own collection, it's a gift from me to you, little star.'
Meaning he had gotten involved with the move.
That fact didn't surprise me as it should considering how much Marvolo had begun to intertwine into my life. It was to the point he likely knew more about me, and first at that, then anyone else.
"Mistress has a letter," called out Tissy as she appeared in the room and handed over a letter and package, "I've made sure to have it checked, it is safe."
I wasn't even surprised that she was also checking anything I received.
But at least this way I knew that there was nothing that could get through that could hurt me.
Mainly since it was more likely that Marvolo reviewed my mail and then handed it to Tissy.
"Alright," I answered knowing better than to thank the elf with Marvolo watching as I took the letter and package, "I'll be calling for you later to send a letter to Marvolo."
From the quiet chuckle Marvolo let out, it seemed he was happy about that.
Tissy only nodded rapidly before disappearing back to likely take care of Marvolo's manor.
A sigh left me as I settled at the desk in the study and placed the package and letter in front of myself. It was from Bellatrix, which could either be a good thing or not.
Especially if she was aware of the favor Marvolo showed me.
Little Butterfly,
I'll be seeing you soon.
Bella ~
Of course the letter she sent was so short making me withhold a grimace even as I set the letter aside and turned towards the package. There was more fear towards this than towards the letter itself considering she could have sent just about anything.
Magic meant even something large could fit into a small package.
'It isn't dangerous,' soothed Marvolo after taking note of how long it was taking me to open the package, 'in fact it's something I think you will adore.'
I couldn't put it off any longer, so with only some hesitation did I pull open the package.
A gasp left me at the small mythical like creature floating inside.
"What?" I began with some confusion since the creature looked to fantastical to be an actual creature. "Where did she find something like this?"
'They were thought to be extinct,' answered Marvolo as I gently reached in the smooth my finger over the creatures face. 'But in truth there are a few left, it's just they went into hiding.'
"What type of creature is this?" I asked next only for Marvolo to not answer with a light chuckle as the creature woke up and looked towards me with a coo.
'The first person they see is who they'll imprint on,' continued Marvolo as the creature floated out of the package and swam in the air to my side to rub against my face. 'This little one now belongs solely to you and will not ever leave your side.'
"I don't see how Bella would gift me something like this,"I couldn't help but blurt out considering while she cared for me, it wasn't to the extent of doing something like this.
'It's a gift from me that she was told to retrieve and send to you,' answered Marvolo making me relax my tense shoulders a bit. 'I've already looked it over and made sure it was healthy before having Tissy bring it to you along with Bellatrix's letter.'
Once more he was doing something out of the ordinary for him.
It made me truly fear seeing Bella again.
"Stella," I finally breathed aloud as I looked at the magical creature that had settled into my arms. "Your name will be Stella, I do thank you for the gift, Marvolo."
Mainly as I didn't feel as alone here in Lestrange Manor anymore.
"Lyra," called Rabastan from the lounge room making me get up while keeping Stella close to my body. "It's time to come down and eat dinner."
Right, because we had just gotten back from Hogwarts and it was already getting late.
"Do I need to change?" I asked as I walked into the lounge room and caught sight of Rabastan standing there with a grin. "Apologies for keeping you waiting."
"What you're wearing now is fine," waved off Rabastan before catching sight of Stella causing his eyes to widen in surprise. "Is that a water spirit? I thought they'd disappeared."
So, Stella was a water spirit. Those were pretty powerful have domain on any water along with having other unknown special abilities depending on their strength.
Marvolo had gifted me not only a companion but a protector.
Many didn't wish to receive the wrath of a water spirit when they had been more known.
It's why many had feared the unknown when they disappeared.
"Her name is Stella," I offered with a small smile as I watched Rabastan take a step closer towards me to overlook the resting spirit. "She was a gift from Marvolo."
Saying this would hopefully keep him from requesting that I give her up.
"Ah," mused Rabastan with a knowing look before offering me a sly smile, "this is what my brother had to go look for and capture with Bellatrix."
What?
So, not only did Marvolo send Bellatrix but he had also sent Rodolphus. It made me wonder if he was aware of the tension and dislike shared between those two or not.
"I'll have to also give my thanks to Rodolphus then," I demurred before following him as we left my rooms for the family dining room. "Is he home?"
Mainly since he could have gone out since leaving me here in my rooms.
