SITTING on the bench, Jisung breathed heavily as sweat fell down his face. "Shit," He mumbled.
He ruffled his hair frustratedly, remembering his encounter with Nari earlier. "She could've found out," He whispered.
"That was way too close," He muttered and leaned against his arms.
He looked up at the sandbag and sighed, his heartbeat slowing down. His black shirt stuck to his sweating body, more beads of sweat sliding down his forehead as he gulped down his water.
Readjusting his boxing gloves, Jisung stood back up and threw a strong punch at the bag. His body burned from the adrenaline and he threw more punches at the bag.
For him, it was a way to clear his mind. He landed his punches perfectly each time, aiming them at different parts of the bag.
His muscles tensed and relaxed as he paced himself around the sandbag and as he threw another punch, his phone rang. Stopping the bag from swaying, Jisung glanced at his phone and took his gloves off.
He ripped the velcro part off with his teeth and slipped the glove off. Answering the phone with his right hand, Jisung huffed a sigh. "Hello, sir."
Sung-min greeted Jisung heartily, "Park! I've got another task for you. There's a runway show that my daughter is featured in. I have invited Nari to watch the show. You know the drill son."
Before Jisung could answer, Sung-min ended the call and Jisung wiped his forehead with his arm. He sighed, "A fashion show..."

EATING a bland breakfast and going straight to learning about the stocks of Germany bored the hell out of Nari. She laid on her bed, groaning in annoyance as her maid knocked on her locked door for the umpteenth time.
"It's only nine o'clock..." She mumbled, lying on her stomach.
"Miss Kang! You have a date with..." The rest of the maid's words were blocked out from Nari's mind.
She shook her head, banging her head against her pillow repeatedly. "This. Is. Hell." She said, lifting her head each time.
Nari thought of just hiding away again, sitting inside her closet and reading a book until night fell. But, she felt as if it was too childish.
She sprung up, remembering that Jisung would have to be around her, monitoring her. That's when she remembered how he was yesterday.
Frozen and scared.
Nari wasn't able to tell him that she could see his memories and she only grew anxious. "What happened with the fire?"
She lay on her back again and stared at the ceiling. Nari could definitely feel her heart beating faster as she thought about him.
"I mean... if he's there it wouldn't be too bad," She whispered.
She brushed her wavy hair out of her face and hummed in thought. "I need a good outfit," Nari mumbled.
A part of her felt annoyed that she was agreeing to the date. "It's to check up on him," Nari said, trying to convince herself.
She opened her closet, trying to find a cute outfit to wear. Pushing through the clothes, she kept contemplating the colours and landed on two outfits.
A pink top and skirt or a dark blue checkered dress. She stared at both options, sighing at what would look better on her.
Turning to her full-length mirror, Nari tried to see what to wear and landed on the dark blue dress. It had thin straps and it was layered.
Applying a little bit of makeup, Nari tied up her hair and wore her boots along with her black purse. She opened the door of her room and saw the maid was about to knock on her door.
"Wow! Miss Kang! You look beautiful!" Her maid exclaimed.
Nari chuckled, still not believing she was about to attend another date.
"I can't believe you're actually going!" Another staff said and immediately covered her mouth, realising what she had said.
"Yup... that's me." Nari nervously muttered, wanting to hide underneath her blanket.
Walking downstairs, she heard other staff whisper with excitement and joy. Surprised she was complying so well.
She followed her assistant to the car, climbing down the spiral stairs to the stone pavement and walked over to the car park surrounded by hedges. There were lines of different cars which Nari sighed at.
"Does Grandpa even drive them?" She whispered, shaking her head disapprovingly.
Her assistant opened the car door and Nari sat inside, sinking into the seat. All she could think about were the boring topics that her dates would talk about.
"Well, of course, you can pursue something on the side but, I'd like a housewife." The man said, cutting his steak.
Raising an eyebrow, Nari didn't want to say another word. She didn't touch her cutlery and stared at the food that slowly turned cold.
The man spewed facts and numbers which bored the woman. She took a small sip of the wine and sighed.
"I'd like my own Art studio. Could you give me one if we marry?" Nari asked dully.
"Art? Ah, like a gallery?" The man asked.
Nari shook her head remembering the endless attempts at ending the tiresome conversations. Looking out the window, she realised that they had arrived.
It was another well-known restaurant and Nari could already tell her afternoon would be boring. However, she knew exactly what to do.
Striding into the restaurant, she found the table and sat in front of another rich-looking man. His hair was gelled back and he wore a black suit.
"Good Evening Miss Kang." He greeted, shaking her hand.
"Evening," Nari muttered, eyeing the man. She decided to name him 'suitor 36'.
"I heard you're studying law. Is that something you'd like to do in the future?" Suitor 36 asked.
Nari wanted to roll her eyes, "I'm actually studying music. It's my passion," She forced a smile, waiting for a reaction.
"Music? Like, classical? That's wonderful, who's your favourite classical artist?" He asked.
"Pop, actually," Nari mumbled, looking around the restaurant.
Her eyes wandered around each table in her view, trying to find the odd one out. She remained staring at the waiters, wondering where Jisung could be.
She bit her lips anxiously, wondering if he even had come. 'Did he give up?' She thought, her eyebrows furrowing.
'Was I too harsh on him yesterday?'
Suitor 36 interrupted her thoughts, "Is everything okay?"
i thought about jisung the bat era when writing the boxing scene 😩
