hi! back when i was EMO, this was my favorite imagine. it was super sappy, but i feel like it was probably done 100,000 times since then.
² remembrance
may second nineteen ninety-eight was the worst day of your life. a grim day for everyone who was involved in the war. you fought in the second wizarding war, alongside your friends and family. in the war, you lost friends and family, too. you lost the love of your life.
even with five years to heal, you mourned. every may second, you relived the hell. the pain. the pitiful looks. the scars. a tear streamed down your face, as you held your locket in your hand. a picture of your love stayed around your neck.
"today's your day, freddie," you whispered to yourself, but you hoped he could hear you. he hoped that he was with you everyday. like he promised. when he was alive, he promised you the rest of his life. unfortunately, your time together was cut short.
today, you remember the time that you had. dressed in black and reunited with his—your— family. since his death, the weasley family took you under their wing. frankly, they were worried about you. freddie was the light of your life, they knew that.
when you lost him, that light was gone. you tried desperately to gain it back by any means necessary. for awhile, drinking helped. then, other men who reminded you of him. you thought maybe if you pretended that they were him, it would feel as through he was back. after five years of that, you knew there was no getting him back. you stopped all your affairs with eccentric gingers. they were not your freddie.
high-spirited laughter startled you. they were here, you wiped the tear stains from your face and helped your friends inside your home. like every year since fred's death.
