Reene and Anaya had just settled into their usual spot in the college library, a cozy nook nestled between towering shelves of dusty tomes and well-loved novels. It was their sanctuary-a place where they could escape the outside world and dive into their studies without distraction. The faint scent of aged paper and polished wood enveloped them, creating an atmosphere that was both comforting and inspiring.

As Reene pulled out her laptop and opened her notes, she glanced around the room, letting her gaze drift over the familiar faces of students hunched over their textbooks. But then something-or rather someone-caught her attention.

A few tables down, she noticed a new figure. He was hunched over his laptop, fingers dancing across the keyboard with a speed that spoke of a deep immersion in his work. There was an intensity in his posture, an urgency in the way he typed as if the words were flowing directly from his mind to the screen without passing through the usual filters of thought.

Thick glasses sat precariously on his nose, slipping down every few moments as he focused intently on whatever was on his screen. He pushed them back up absentmindedly, a small gesture that added to the aura of concentration surrounding him. Reene felt a flicker of curiosity spark within her. She had never seen him before-new blood in this ocean of familiar faces.

"What's got your attention?" Anaya's voice pulled Reene from her reverie, her eyes following Reene's gaze to the boy at the next table.

"Just...him," Reene replied, nodding subtly in his direction. "I haven't seen him here before."

Anaya leaned in slightly, her interest piqued. "He's cute. Do you think he's a programmer or something?"

"Definitely looks like it," Reene said, a smile creeping onto her lips. There was something intriguing about him-perhaps it was the way he was so engrossed in his work, completely oblivious to the world around him. "I wonder what he's working on."

"Why don't you go find out?" Anaya teased, nudging Reene with her elbow. "You're not shy, are you?"

"Please, I'm just...observing," Reene replied, a hint of laughter in her voice, though her heart raced at the thought of initiating a conversation. She wasn't shy, but approaching someone new always made her pulse quicken.

"Observing, huh? That's what they all say before they go and make a move," Anaya winked. "Come on, it could be fun. What's the worst that could happen?"

Reene bit her lip, contemplating. It wasn't like her to make the first move, but there was something about him that beckoned her curiosity. She glanced back at him, noticing the way he furrowed his brow in concentration, his fingers flying across the keys as if he were composing a masterpiece.

"Okay, I'll do it," Reene said, surprising herself. "Just to say hi. I'll be right back."

"Go get 'em, tiger!" Anaya whispered, her excitement palpable.

Reene took a deep breath, smoothing down her hoodie as she stood up. With every step toward the stranger, her confidence wavered, but she pushed through the self-doubt. As she approached, she could hear the faint clicks of his typing and feel the warmth of the library surrounding her.

"Um, hey," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper, but he looked up, startled.

His dark eyes met hers, surprised yet intrigued. "Oh, hi," he replied, adjusting his glasses and blinking as if he had just emerged from a different world. "Sorry, I didn't see you there."

"I noticed you were really focused," she said, gesturing to his laptop. "What are you working on?"

He chuckled, a slight blush creeping up his cheeks. "Just a coding project for class. I'm trying to debug a program I've been working on for a while. It's giving me some serious headaches."
