My eyes flutter open, and everything around me is different. The seat is bumping up and down, and in front of me... the worst person ever. Lyla. I sit up and look at her.
"My goodness, sister.... You must stop falling asleep like this, what must the King think if he found a concubine like you does nothing but sleep" she said, hands to her chest. Damn girl. Okay. This is getting weirder and.... Hold on.
"Where am I?" I ask after while. Something isn't adding up, so I look around. I'm in a carriage?! A freaking carriage. "Ain't no way I'm in a... fairytale?!"
"You must have hit your head, sister. We are in the Kingdom of Ames."
Until the carriage stops, I am freaking out. Nothing makes sense. Why the heck am I here? The last thing I remember was falling asleep reading.... I keep forgetting the title.
"Sister, it seems that we have arrived. And do fix your dress and your face... it is rather disgusting"
Gee thanks Lyla. I get out with some difficulties and when we step inside. The door and everything inch is decked out in gold. Even the ceiling is gold and white. I crane my neck just to get a better look at the Micheal-Angelo aesthetic painting.
Ooof. "Are you alright, milady?" Deep and husky. Wait... Sylus. "It seems I have not given you my name and yet you say it so smoothly as churned butter"
"Oh.... My sister told me about you?" Very convincing Sophie. Nice. Now he won't know you're a creep.
"Lady Sophie, your sister and the King is looking for you," a maid says.
"Shall I escort you?"
"Yes please."
Mr Knight, and I walk together in silence for a bit to the room where my 'sister' and the King are waiting. I still want to punch her. "So Sylus..."
"Yes, Milady," he replies, hands still on his sword. "What is it you want to tell me?"
"You're hot," I blurt out.
"I know... tis rather humid. Alas I cannot take this off."
"Don't do... that."
So I'm in a fairytale. And the person next to me... my crush. Is a knight?! Awesome. Not too bad I guess. We walk in silence until we reach the room where The King and Lyla is waiting in. King Ames says, "That shall be all, leave us be"
"No!" I say. This makes everyone halt. "I mean, can Sylus stay please?"
Neither coffee nor an essay can save me from this mess. And yet... The person next to me is the one I have dreamt about over and over.
