As you can see in the description of the story that this story takes place back in rural India of 1950 where Rohit is a powerful sarpanch of villages and Virat is his soon to be wife to be particular a innocent sweet shy wife, but as you see Rohit don't seems to like the idea of marriage or more particularly idea of marriage with Virat. Virat being fragile just irks Rohit it just that Virat annoyed Rohit.
