A week passed with Debbie calling Lou everyday to make sure of her whereabouts. She had memorised Lou's medicine schedule as well as adjusted her activities to Lou's time zone. She made sure Lou took her pills on time. She even knew the hours of sleep Lou would be induced to by those pills and the natural sleeping time at night. Debbie adjusted herself to Lou's schedule to talk. It didn't matter if she had to be awake whole night or wake up at 3 in the morning. She made sure the calling schedule was comfortable to Lou.

She was online listening to every word by the doctor when Lou had her first post-op medical examination. She made sure to understand most of the things said by the doctor despite her poor knowledge in medical terms/procedures. Lou was protected well by her people and her recovery process was good.

Debbie continued to monitor Lou everyday. She knew Lou's recovery would take six or more weeks. Already two weeks since surgery, Lou could fly if she wanted to but obviously she couldn't. Her brother was discharged three days ago and the house was a mess. The trauma suffered by Matt's family was too much and they needed emotional support. Their older sister Victoria had to go back to her family. Elder brother Bill and his wife Sammy too had to go back. They were employed in different companies and had limited paid leave. Unlike Lou, they didn't own any organisation. Matt's family needed support and only Lou could give that to them. Being his twin, she really was the only one who could tolerate his moods (apart from Kristen). Lou and Matt were alike and shared the same attitude (shared single braincell as per Gen-Z Claire).

It was mid-February. Debbie had ordered red roses to deliver to Lou's place because obviously it was valentine's day. She had managed to google the nearest florist in Melbourne where Lou resided and ordered the most expensive roses to be delivered on 15th of February. (Because Australia is a day ahead compared to USA and Debbie wanted to irritate Lou by following American time-zone)

"Aren't you a sap", Lou said when she saw Debbie's face on screen.

"I don't know what you are talking about"

"I am talking about these", Lou held the bouquet of red roses and a card that clearly said Happy Valentine's day Catherine Louise Miller-Ocean.

"What are they?", Debbie was in mood for fun after all.

"German Sausages"

"Well, nice. You can throw them on the barbie", Debbie said in the stereotypical Aussie accent.

"Jesus! You will fucking ruin my country's superior accent"

"Superior? Please, you guys are wannabe cockney- Uh..."

"Didn't google the term?", Lou asked with a grin.

"Fuck you", Debbie said, rolling her eyes. "Whatever, you guys do copy cockney accent and are obviously convict descendants"

"Says an Ocean. Did you forget your 5 years, 8 months and 12 days in cage?"

"Fuck you, Miller. Fuck you. I fucking hate you"

"I can see how much you hate me", Lou said waving the flowers Debbie sent her. "But a day after valentine's day. Did you forget the date, Ocean?"

"Today is Valentine's day"

"No, yesterday was Valentine's day"

"For sane and decent human beings, it is today", Debbie grinned.

"Take that back! Or I will send our Emus to attack your shitty country"

"Of course you'll ask the Emus. Your Masters. I still can't believe you guys lost to bunch of chicks", Debbie laughed. "What next? The great Kangaroo war? Pretty sure those buffed up bastards will fuck the shit out of you guys"
