Hearing my alarm go off I sat up in bed and couldn't help the smile that formed on my face. When I was 10 years old my brother marcus died in a drive by shooting and after that my mom moved me and her to texas she wanted my brother Marquis to come to keep him away from the streets but because he was already over the age of 18 she couldnt make him. I wanted to stay in new york with my brother but my mom wasnt having it but Marquis promised me that when I was 18 I could go live with him and finally that day has come. I love my mother but losing my brother has made her mean and bitter. Living with my mother since we got to texas has been hell. It's like being in prison and I am happy I'm finally going to live with my brother. I got up making my way into the bathroom after taking a shower and getting dressed I started bringing my suitcases downstairs

I still had a 45 minute wait so I just decided to scroll through my phone and as I was doing so Marquis called me
