this part, i used to struggle with. angst. angst is sad or hopeless scenes, to put it simply. the death of a character? angst. a break up? angst. but how do you WRITE IT? basically, you want to add description. dont tell their sadness, make the reader feel it. dont go all shakespeare, though! be simple, but not like "amanda cried as her boyfriend walked away". it's more like "amanda's tears fell through her fingers as the one she loved the most, devoted herself to, stormed away like she was nothing. *was* she nothing?" notice the last sentence. there was a question. the main character should question themself a lot. blame themself. that really makes your readers feel it. but there are multiple types. i call them emptiness angst, pain angst, or sad angst. emptiness angst is wyen there is a bittersweet ending or a separation occurs. pain angst is when a character goes through physical pain. sad angst is anything else. all of these are angst, but they're different.
btw, this guide is NOT in order 💀 💀
