Jake's words were my oxygen. I breathed them in, believing every lie.
"Amanda, you're my everything."
"I love you more than life itself."
"You're so beautiful."
But actions spoke louder than words. He'd pressure me for pictures, for meetings, for more.
"I just want to be close to you," he'd say.
I was naive, blinded by the idea of love.
One night, he asked me to meet him at the park. I went, trembling with excitement.
That's when everything changed.
"Come on, Amanda, just a kiss," he whispered, his hands roaming.
I pushed him away, firm. "No, Jake. I'm not comfortable."
He sneered, eyes darkening. "You're teasing me, Amanda. You're leading me on."
I stood up, heart racing. "I'm not playing games, Jake. I deserve respect."
With shaking legs, I turned and walked away.
"Fine, be that way!" Jake yelled after me.
I didn't look back.
