"I don't understand!"

"You're smart sweetheart, soon enough you will." Mr. Beaufort told his oldest daughter as they walked side by side through campus.

"You just have to grow up first." The man finished as he continued walking past his daughter when she stopped in her tracks.

Gabi Beaufort was fuming as her father just couldn't understand why she made a certain decision to a girl in her high school on graduation night.

Now instead of living off campus she is being forced to room with a random girl that she's never met in her life.

Gabi stomped her heel on the ground causing some bystanders to give her an odd look.

Gabi gave a snarky smile to the few bystanders before following after her father into her dorm hall and to her room.

Once Gabi made it into her room she found her father talking with whom she assumed was her roommate.

"Living in this cell will be less torturous once you leave." Gabi crossed her arms as she stood by the door frame, glaring at her father.

Mr. Beaufort let out a sigh. "Keep out of trouble your freshman year and then we can negotiate you living off campus the next year."

Gabi rolled her eyes at her father's words. One thing he did was never follow through with his words, so anything he said went in one ear and out the other.

"It was nice to meet you Lucy." Mr. Beaufort smiled at the young girl before leaving and walking past his daughter without looking at her.

"I'm guessing you're Gabi." Lucy let out a breathless laugh, hoping to get rid of the awkward tension.

"You're smarter than you look." Gabi gave Lucy a fake smile before walking to her side of the room.

Lucy eyed the dark brunette girl not liking the tone that she gave her.

The last thing Lucy wanted was a roommate she hated.

"So-" Lucy paused as she was watching the girl put her expensive clothes in her closet. "What made your dad want to force you to be in a dorm?"

Gabi stopped what she was doing and turned around to look at Lucy who was sitting on the edge of her bed.

"Look Lacy. We might have to live together, but we aren't going to be friends. So why don't we make this easier by me pretending like you don't exist." Gabi stared at Lucy for a moment before resuming what she was doing.

"Got it." Lucy scoffed. She wasn't going to spend any longer with this stuck up bitch. So she decided to go across the hall and tell her two friends Pippa and Bree.

Gabi wasn't sure what she wanted to peruse once she graduates college in four years. The only thing she really knows is that she's going to choose a path that leads her to taking over the world.

As of now Gabi hasn't declared a major, so fort the first semester she's going to knock out her prerequisites and get easy A's to start off her first semester with a successful gpa.

Gabi strutted into her first class of the day and seemed to be the first person who chose to sit in the front rather than the back.

There were about five more minutes until her class started, so she pulled out her phone and tried to text a few of her friends from high school.

To Rosy:

Hey it's been a minute since I've heard from you.. I miss you

To Carter:

Remember me?

Before Gabi could text one last person she was distracted when she saw someone sit right next to her.

She furrowed her eyebrows as she looked around and saw tons of opens seats yet this person decided to sit right next to her.

"Love the hairband." The stranger complemented Gabi.

"Mhm." Gabi hummed. "Is there a reason you decided to sit next to me rather than-" Gabi used her finger to show the girl all the empty seats. "Any of those empty seats?"

"Personally I wanted to see the bitch that was rude to my friend for no reason. I was a little nervous at first, but now that I see the bitch I don't see why anyone would be intimidated."

Gabi narrowed her eyes at the girl. "You have no idea who you are talking to, so I'll give you a chance to say sorry and move elsewhere before I make sure you know who I am."

"I know who you are. You're the typical rich mean girl that is stuck in her high school phase thinking that she's gonna be the same girl and get away with the same actions that she got away with in high school because people feared her."

"But if it isn't obvious you are gonna end up still being a bitch with no friends your whole college experience."

Gabi couldn't help but grin at the girls words, but before she could reply the professor walked in and started class.

Two hours had gone by and the professor finally dismissed the class.

"Oh!" Gabi spoke as she grabbed onto the girls hand that decided she was going to stick up for her friend.

"I'll be seeing you around, Pippa." Gabi smirked before pushing past the girl and walking out of the class, feeling daggers on the back of her head.

Pippa bit the inside of her lip. How did Gabi know her name? Was she going to regret standing up for Lucy? What did Gabi mean?

"Shit." Pippa whispered to herself before walking out of the class and rushing back to her dorm room hoping to find Bree or Lucy.
