It was a Friday night, and her and stiles were parked up at the reserve, right on the edge of the cliff. It was their usual spot where her and her best friend parked up and talked all night.
Her and Stiles have been friends for years, going through hell and back with all the werewolf drama from her other best friend, Scott. But right now, her and Stiles were discussing leaving for separate colleges.
"Are you worried about leaving ?", Stiles asked quietly, his mouth half full of fries.
"Not at all".
He chuckled and swallowed his food, putting the container down on the dash.
"How are you not worried ? You're going off to a different state without me."
"I'll be sad of course, but I always wanted to go to this college".
He nodded while he pulled out a French fry and stared out the windshield. It was pouring outside.
"Yeah... You've been working really hard for that spot..."
"Why do you sound sad ?".
He was silent for a moment, but he finally spoke up;
"Come on, dude, it's not just gonna be the same when you're gone. It's like I'm not gonna have my best friend at my side anymore...""I know".
He took a deep breath as he continued staring out the windshield.
"It's just weird. We've known each other since kindergarten and now we're growing up to go off our separate ways..."
"That's how life works Stiles".
He leaned back against the headrest and looked over at her.
"I know, but it's shitty, you know? I'm happy for you for getting into that college you wanted, but I'm gonna miss you like crazy."
"I'm gonna miss you too".
"You're not going to forget about me when you're there, will you ?", he teased, but the tone in his voice sounded serious.
"I will never".
"You promise ?", he asked, a small smirk on his face as he turned his body to look back over at her fully.
"I promise".
He smiled back at her, but then his face dropped.
"Can I be serious for a moment ?".
"Yes".
He took a deep breath, seeming somewhat nervous to ask his next question. After a moment of hesitation, he asked gently,
"Can I tell you something ?".
"You can tell me anything Stiles".
He shifted slightly in his position and stared for a moment longer before speaking softly;
"Promise you won't think I'm weird...?"."Of course not".
He smiled before looking down at his lap, fiddling and playing with his fingers. Like always, when he was nervous he'd start biting his lip. He didn't look at her as he started to speak again.
"There's something I need to get off my chest...".
"Then tell me".
He closed his eyes before continuing to speak, not ready to look at her yet.
"For a long time, I've been...hiding a secret from you...something I didn't want to tell you...".
"Really ? I thought we had a no secret rule !".
