The following day, it felt as if a storm had gone through the house. No one was out of their rooms. I heard Mr. Salazar coming out of a guest bedroom. I guess he left her by herself so she could relax. He greeted me and asked if we could talk in his office. We walked to his office together. I sat with him. He spoke a lot. I didn't care for what he was saying. I was busy thinking about what Alana wanted. I apologized for what had happened the day before and asked to be excused. I saw that there was sadness. He was being rejected by his family for thinking that his son was not his son.
Before arriving at my room, I passed by Mrs. Salazar's room. I peeked in, but she was still asleep. I left her be. I got dressed and took out my notebook.
Valeria,
If only you could see what was happening in this house. Mr. Jackson wrote a letter to Mr Salazar telling him I wasn't his son. Except, he thought that what it really meant was that Esteban was not his biological son. I can't believe it. I ruin their family. I'm going to see Alana today. I don't know what she wants.
Hope you're okay.
Erick.
I asked Jaime if he could take me to the place that ALana had said we would meet. When I got there, she was in a beautiful dress. I couldn't take my eyes off her. Her bodyguard was with her. They both walked towards us. Alana thanked Jaime for bringing me over and asked him to come back for me in a couple of hours. Jaime was confused as was I. I agreed to what Alana was saying. I asked Jaime to take a few hours for himself. When he saw that I was safe, he left.
"I'm glad you came," she said as we got on to her car. I didn't know where we were going or what we would be doing, but I trusted her. After an hour of driving, we arrived at a cabin. Her bodyguard opened the door and we got off. I guess she saw I was confused by where we were. "I wanted to talk peacefully without any interruptions. We walked in, it was warm as opposed to outside.
Alana asked her bodyguard to leave and then we were finally alone. We sat there, for a while no one said nothing. Until she got up and got some snacks for us. We sat by the fireplace and ate. When we finished, she got close to me. She kissed me. I was shocked. What was she doing? She continued to kiss me. I pushed her. "What are you doing?" I was so confused. "I want to be with you." I saw tears forming. "I want to be with you and like this, I want to you know... make love." I couldn't believe what she was proposing. "What about Felipe? And your parents?" She began to kiss me again. "They don't matter at this point." We continued kissing. I couldn't believe it.
After what happened, I asked Alana if we could go. She was confused. "Don't you love me the way that I do?" I couldn't lead her on. "I do, but you have to understand. I can't be with you. Your parents will never allow it." I saw tears rolling down her face. "I don't care, let's run away. Together." I got up. I made a mistake."No, I can't. I'm leaving again like I did before." I walked out of the house. I know that she must have broken down in tears. I called Jaime so that he could come for me.
When Jaime arrived, I didn't say anything. I knew that I could never talk about what happened with Alana. At home, I saw that Mrs. Salazar was finally out of her room and eating. I walked to her and was about to ask her how she was feeling when... "Where were you? I called you and you didn't answer." She had this thing with checking on me every single minute. "I had something that I had to do, but how are you?" She didn't answer, she just continued eating.
I walked to my room. How could I live with myself. I hurt her. I lead her on. She must have been heart broken. I sent her a message. <<Are you okay? Did you get home?>> I waited several minutes, there was no answer. I left everything alone and decided to shower. After the nice hot shower, I thought it would be great to write to my sister.
Valeria,
You wouldn't imagine what happened. I broke her heart. I can't go into much detail. It's something personal, but I can't believe what I did. I hope one day she will understand it was for the best.
Erick
When I finished writing, I heard my phone buzz. I picked it up. It was a message from Alana. "As if you care. Don't talk to me ever again." That was the only thing she sent. I didn't bother answering her. What could I say to her that would make it better?
