Chapter 1

The hallways were bustling with noise from the adjacent classroom regardless of where in the school you would find yourself. For the second and third years, it was already customary. They knew the inner workings of the school to a degree by now. For our first years however, it was the moment that would kick start their position in their class, all dependent on their success in self introducing themselves to the rest.

{Looks like they already started, huh.}, Misaki was one of the last students to arrive at his designated classroom, already making out some form of 'my name is' and 'nice to meet you' coming from inside. He chuckled to himself, mirroring the last time he was in a similar scenario, back then, being demoted to the notorious Class E. It felt nostalgic.

Shrugging off the reminiscing for now, he slid the door open and stepped inside. The sound of the door opening temporarily put a stop to the chatter, as everyone else turned to take a peek at their newest classmate. The reactions seemed rather mixed. Some averted their eyes as soon as they met him, others just kept smiling his way. {I guess my appearance is bound to be a hit or miss with people. }, he reassured himself, before taking his spot, as instructed after the assembly, the column next to the door, in the second row, behind a girl with dark colored hair.

In a way, he felt a bit out of place. He's been in Class E, with more or less the same people for 3 years, and now he's amongst complete strangers. You wouldn't want to botch your first impression after all. Fortunately, someone else was planning to make the first step.

"You must be the missing person! A pleasure to meet you finally! I'm Ichinose Honami.", a long, strawberry blonde haired classmate was quick to do the honors, brimming with energy and positivity.

"Well aren't you just a ball of joy

"Well aren't you just a ball of joy.", Shinzo burst into laughter, somewhat taken aback by this warm welcome. His nonchalant response has somewhat ameliorated the worried looks caused by his rougher exterior. "I'm Masaki, Shinzo Masaki.", he waved to her specifically, as she's really the only one who introduced herself to him. {She's definitely going to be the center of attention in this class if she keeps this up.}

"Nice to meet you. And I am just excited to meet people. We'll be together for at least 1 year, so we should get along, don't you think?"

"I guess so. Though I do get the feeling I might be scarring some people off here. I don't bite!", he addressed the last part to the rest of the room, with Ichinose giving a smile to reassure her classmates that it will be fine.

"Sorry about this. It was just a bit unexpected, is all. I'm Amikura Mako.", the girl sitting in front of him decided to bite the bullet and go along. And soon the rest followed suit, with various degrees of confidence. It was a start, to say the least.

"Are you into punk fashion, Shinzo-kun?", Honami instinctively reached out towards the piercings, before her hand was grasped.

"Nah. Nothing of the sort really. But I'd appreciate it if you'd avoid touching them as much as possible. They're one of a kind for me."
