It was yet another day in the hell hole they called 'school' for Jay and Casey. Jay sat in the back of the class, basically glaring daggers at the back of the teacher's head. A few minutes earlier, the teacher caught Jay blasting her music way too loud through her headphones. In Jay's perspective, the volume was quieter than the bullshit coming out of the teacher's mouth. Pretty much all the teachers were used to Jay's constant cursing and yelling. They just thought it was apart of her natural personality. Casey thought Jay's behavior was actually amusing and somewhat cute.
Casey was like the teacher's pet, so she wasn't worried about getting in trouble for half the stuff Jay does on a daily basis. Out of nowhere, Jay stood up from her seat and grabbed her phone from the teacher's desk before grunting angrily and walking out the door. Casey, being the protective, worried person that she is, raised her hand. "Mrs. Jericks, may I go to the bathroom?" Casey asked, wanting an excuse to see Jay. Mrs. Jericks nodded, obviously not paying much attention to what Casey had asked. Casey grabbed her bag quickly and ran out of the room. She looked around the halls. So far, there was no sign of Jay. She huffed and took out her phone, calling Jay's number. "What?" Jay's voice asked from the other line. "Jay, where are you? And why did you just storm out of class like that?" Casey asked, her eyebrows furrowed. She heard a long sigh from Jay. "I just..needed time to myself to think, alright? And I'm at my house. My dad's at work so it's just me." She said. Casey sighed. "Do you want me to come see you?" she asked, a worried tone echoing in her soft voice. She heard a long pause from the other side of the phone. "......N-no..I'll be alright. Don't worry about me. I'm just gonna chill and watch Friday The 13th shit. I'll talk to you later. Bye." Jay said, hanging up not giving Casey any time to respond. Casey stared at the phone with worry. Jay only stuttered when she was lying or upset. Casey shook her head and sighed before walking back to class.
~After School~
Casey walked up to Jay's front door and grabbed the spare key from under the mat and made her way inside slowly, shutting the door quietly behind her. "Jay? It's Casey. You alright?" She asked, walking up the stairs, heading towards Jay's room.
She got no response. She walked to the door of Jay's room and slowly reached her hand out towards the knob. She stopped as she heard light sobbing through the door. "J-Jay?..You in there?" She asked softly. She heard a small gasp and shuffling and the sound of a drawer quickly being closed. Casey opened the door to Jay's room and frowned as she saw Jay sitting on the edge of her bed with an obvious fake smile. She could still see the small streaks of tears running down her pale face. Casey walked towards Jay and pulled her into a tight hug. Jay was slightly shocked, but hesitantly hugged back. Casey pulled away and looked into Jay's eyes. Jay's silver, grey eyes held a mix of emotions. Anger, sadness, pain, and love. "What's wrong?" Casey asked quietly. Jay shook her head and forced out a small laugh. "Nothing at all. I'm alright like I usually am.." She said, her fake smile dropping slowly with each word she said.
Casey thought of something that Jay might have done and had a worried look in her eyes. She grabbed Jay's arm and yanked her sleeve down, revealing a line of fresh bloody cuts along her arm. Casey gasped and covered her mouth as she let go of Jay's arm. "C-Casey..I'm sorry. There's just so much going on and I..It makes me feel..calm." She said. Casey grabbed Jay's hand and dragged her into the bathroom. She made Jay stay still as she turned on the water of the sink and placed Jay's bleeding arm under the running water. Jay didn't react. She just looked to the ground with a small glare.
Casey then proceeded to tend to the wounds as she grabbed a roll of gauze from the cabinet and wrapped her arm. Casey stared at Jay with an unexplained expression. Jay was about to speak up, but was yanked forward by Casey, causing their lips to smash together. Jay's eyes widened slightly before slowly kissing back and wrapping her arms around Casey's waist. Casey pulled away for air and hugged Jay tightly. "Promise to never harm yourself ever again for as long as we're together?" Casey asked. Jay sighed and nodded. "For you..I promise." She whispered into Casey's shoulder length dirty blonde hair. "I love you." Casey mumbled into Jay's long golden brown/blonde hair. Jay blushed lightly and smiled softly. "I love you too." She said. They sat there for what seemed like hours hugging each other. Trapped in each others loving embrace.
