Midnight was quite the intelligent and mysterious cat, always up to secrecies and peculiar stuff. Or, actually... they weren't really a cat, but rather a demon posing as one.
They'd been born in hell but wanted out of there, so they eventually managed to get out onto earth.
To live on earth Midnight needed to create a new identity, a new body and a believable image, but that wasn't the hardest part for Midnight... they needed to feed off of living beings to thrive and not go insane on earth.
It wasn't like Midnight didn't enjoy it, they enjoyed emotionally and physically torturing their victims a whole ton... but getting away with it to the degree they need to wouldn't be a walk in the park, even among such simple-minded, naive creatures.
Midnight was also immortal, so they needed to fake their death in communities sometimes to leave and build themselves a new life elsewhere, which was naturally pretty hard to do over and over.
It wasn't often cats she didn't deliberately reveal their identity to before murdering them had figured it out, but in those rare cases they'd swiftly deal with them. Maybe it'd only been three times or so in almost a thousand years so far, so Midnight was doing pretty well for themselves.
They were now in a quiet park, looking up at the blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds. The wind blew softly in their whiskers and the sun heated their black pelt. Everything felt quite wonderful to Midnight in the moment.
Purring softly, they let down their guard as they sat down in the warm grass. They had not managed to fully settle down when another cat trotted into view, causing Midnight to focus once more.
"Oh, hi!" the cat who was a chocolate-pelted tabby with very strange rabbit-like ears said, "This sure is some nice weather, huh?" The cat loafed next to Midnight who didn't expect a stranger to just join beside them.
"The name's Wirly! What's yours?" Wirly asked, tilting their head to the side with a smile.
"Um... Midnight," Midnight said, blinking slowly.
Wirly's pupils dilate, "Awesome. Wanna be friends?"
And so, they did become friends. In the coming days they hung out together a lot, and Wirly introduced Midnight to their friend group that had three more cats in it. They called themselves WKAT.
There was Ikea, an annoying little trickster Calico who had formed the group along with Oleander. Oleander was a sweet and gentle yet overly excited and joyous cat who had folded ears and a white pelt with some stray gray spots.
There was also the newest member of the group aside from Midnight now, Cornflower. Cornflower was small and sweet yet not to be messed with, a fighter. They had a soft beige pelt and sparkly blue eyes.
Midnight quickly managed to fit in with the group, becoming a welcomed and beloved member of WKAT. Another cat named Sunny Midnight didn't think much of joined the group after them, but they didn't manage to get as intertwined as the others despite staying.
In not too long Wirly's heart had been set on flames. They admitted their feelings to Midnight, asking if they could date. Midnight happily agreed... except they weren't in love. They wanted the chance to break Wirly's fragile heart when killing them in the future. "B-b-but I-I thought you loved me!!" Oh man, Midnight could just imagine it.
It'd been just over a year since Midnight had been introduced to the group, and now they'd formed strong bonds with the members... even started living with them all.
They'd lived many lives, had many friends, many lovers... all of them having their heart broken and guts spilled, this group wasn't gonna be any different.

Ooo, a more cold Midnight! This one isn't that easy to tame, and it does make more sense than canon when you think about it. I did have a song in mind when coming up with this lol...
