𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃'𝓈 𝓅𝓁𝒶𝒸ℯ

Darrian was alone tonight. David was out with his brothers as he stood on his balcony overlooking the city of New York. He had a glass of Hennessy in one hand and his phone in the other. On his mind was David 𝒶𝓃𝒹 Michael. The past was creeping up on him.

"𝒲𝒽𝓎 𝒶𝓇ℯ 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝒽ℯ𝓇ℯ 𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃?ℳ𝓎 𝒽𝓊𝓈𝒷𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒾𝓈 𝒽ℯ𝓇ℯ," ℳ𝒾𝒸𝒽𝒶ℯ𝓁 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹

Their conversation replayed in Darrian's mind.

"ℐ 𝓉𝒽ℴ𝓊𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝓌ℯ 𝓌ℯ𝓇ℯ 𝒻𝓇𝒾ℯ𝓃𝒹𝓈 ℳ𝒾𝓀ℯ," 𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹

"𝒲ℯ 𝒶𝓇ℯ," ℳ𝒾𝒸𝒽𝒶ℯ𝓁 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹

"𝒯𝒽ℯ𝓃 𝓌𝒽𝓎 𝒶𝓇ℯ 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝓉𝓇𝓎𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓉ℴ ℴ𝓃ℯ 𝓊𝓅 𝓂ℯ?ℱ𝓇𝒾ℯ𝓃𝒹𝓈 𝒹ℴ𝓃'𝓉 𝒹ℴ 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉," 𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹 𝓂ℴ𝒸𝓀𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓁𝓎

"ℒℯ𝒶𝓋ℯ 𝓂𝓎 𝒽ℴ𝓊𝓈ℯ," ℳ𝒾𝒸𝒽𝒶ℯ𝓁 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹

"𝒪𝓇 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 ?ℛℯ𝓂ℯ𝓂𝒷ℯ𝓇 𝓌𝒽ℴ 𝓇ℯ𝒶𝓁𝓁𝓎 𝑔ℴ𝓉 𝓎ℴ𝓊 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝒽ℴ𝓊𝓈ℯ," 𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓇𝒾𝒶𝓃 𝓈𝒶𝒾𝒹

That was night before Michael died. Their last conversation together never sat right with Darrian.

Knock
Knock

Darrian walked to his front door and opened it up to Elijah.

"Hey," Darrian said

"Hey. I'm gonna need you to be completely honest with me," Elijah said walking in

"Ok," Darrian said

"Did you have anything to do with Michael's death?" Elijah asked

Darrian was honestly taken back by what Elijah said. He thought he could trust his best friend since they were kids to trust him. He slowly sat his drink down and stared deeply at his friend.

"As my best friend don't overstep your boundaries," Darrian said

"I'm not doing shit but asking a question. Did you have anything to do with that man's death?" Elijah asked

"I-"

Darrian was about to say something but David walked in the apartment using his extra key. Darrian quickly changed his attitude and began walking towards David. He greeted him with a kiss before introducing him to Elijah.

"D, this is Elijah. Elijah this is my boyfriend David," Darrian said

Elijah stood up and looked at David. He knew exactly who he is. But he couldn't be in the same room as David.

He stared at Darrian before walking out the apartment.

"What was that about?" David asked pointing to the door

"Nothing baby. How was the boys night out?" Darrian asked

"Uh it was alright. Ethan and Justin kept asking about you the whole time so it kinda ruined the mood for me. I wanted to have fun not be bombarded with questions," David said sitting on the couch

"Sorry bout that," Darrian said

"It's fine. Really it is," David said

David stared at Darrian and for a moment he saw Michael. He tried brushing it off but he couldn't. There was something about Darrian that made David feel like he was close to Michael , even from beyond the grave.
