(The year 1756)

As the small, frail boy kissed his mother goodbye twice one for him and another for his other mother, death watched from a distance, knowing that the woman she had fallen in love with would never look at her the same way she did when they first laid eyes on each other.
Death took the boy's small hand in hand to walk the bridge over to whatever comes after the end of it all.

As they walked away in the distance a green spark drifted along the stream of ever-flowing water to a basket that held a small baby girl who was squealing uncontrollably till the small green spark of light circulated the baby making the small child fascinated and go quiet the small light then disappeared into the child's small fragile head. The sun rose in the distance, and the woman held a vase in their arm to collect water from the stream till she noticed the basket with the small child inside. She felt sorry for the little one. She placed the vase aside and held the small child in her arms to comfort the child. She placed the child back in the basket and collected the water she needed. She held the vase of water in one arm and the basket of the child in the other and walked back through the woods where she came.

(17 years later)

(1773)

A girl walked through the woods, carrying a small basket in her hand and wearing a blue-green velvet cloak that framed her dark hair. She reached the riverside and bent down to examine the bushes filled with berries, continuing her search for herbs to take back home. Suddenly, she heard the sound of sticks snapping in the distance, but it turned out to be just a deer.

As she walked slowly along the bank, she soon heard the voice of a man approaching her. He said, "Sorry to startle you. I didn't realize anyone came out into the woods, especially with that witch lurking around, performing her devilish rituals. I wouldn't have thought a young lady like you would choose to be here alone unless...."
The girl replied nervously, "I don't know what you're insinuating, but I am simply collecting berries, nothing more..."
The man walked towards her more and interrupted what she had to say.

"Oh, but I think you do know what I am insinuating. You're the witch who lives in the woods everyone talks about and escapes every trial she was put on. Well, I am going to make sure that never happens again."
The man then came towards the girl with a sharpened knife to the throat till a surge of greenish-grey light blasted towards the man and in the end it sucked the life out of him quite literally she slowly approached the man's In absolute horror, she had never in her whole life used her magic to defend herself, let alone kill anyone. She just stood there in silence, unsure of what to do.

A dark figure appeared in the distance and slowly approached the girl she realised something was there or more like someone.
"Who is there?" The girl said in a defensive tone, the figure reached for their hood and took it down to reveal a woman. The woman then looked upon the body of the now-deceased man. "This man spent his entire life harming innocent women and young girls. I hope he accepts what he faces next." The woman looks down on the man in pity, then all of a sudden disappears.

The girl then turned her head in an alert manner and said to the mysterious woman," Who... Are you, 'cause I have a feeling you are something more than just some witch that just wanders around the woods."
The woman looked at the girl and replied, "I have many names, but I usually go by Rio. I like you, kid, so you can call me Rio. And yes, I am more than just the witch who wanders around the woods. There's much more to me than that, but we can save that conversation for another time."

The girl suddenly realized, "Oh, I never introduced myself! My name is Ingrid, Ingrid Muerta." She said this to the woman standing in front of her. "Muerta, you say? Interesting..." Rio replied, giving Ingrid a curious look. Ingrid has looked around, admiring her surroundings. The tall trees intertwined with each other. Her gaze was then directed towards the deceased man lying in the mud, being consumed by small bugs that lived in the ground.
