Manny felt lost as he roamed the streets, riding his bike. He looked at his phone, 4:00, he wanted to find place to sleep for the night, but he had to get somewhere before he had to turn off his phone. Then, an idea struck him, he needed to look different, even if his parents somehow knew where he was, they couldn't really confirm it was him. He decided to ride into an open field and looked for a spot to lay down. Except, he wasn't going to sleep. He had something else to do.
Once he found a good spot, he got off his bike and took his backpack off, kneeling down to search through it. The grass was itchy, hurting his legs as he kneeled, he had always hated how grass felt. He finally dug out what he needed, a bottles of hair dye, a water bottle, and a pair of scissors, perfect.
He grabbed the scissors and exhaled shakily "Alright Manny, don't mess this up" his hands shook as the scissors neared his long hair, "You can do this". His hands continued shaking, it was too cold out there to do anything, but he had to do this now. "Come on," His hands stayed frozen where he wanted to cut. He took a deep, shaky breath again and tried to close the scissors on his hair. "Come on man, just focus"
He waited for a second and then did it, he closed the scissors on hair, and cutting sound echoing and a chunk of his dark brown hair fell to the ground.
He exhaled, relieved, "Jeez, that took a while" he finally cut off one part, now it was time for the other. He moved the scissors to his left hand, it shaking more aggresively, he had to be very careful, he was right-handed after all. After a while of trying to get the scissors in the right spot, he was finally ready to cut. But then, in a matter of seconds, he was startled by the sound of bushes rustling. And he cut in the wrong place, making the halves noticeably inequal.
Although, Manny didn't know that, so he continued to change his hair, he grabbed the white hair dye first, putting on his hair and rubbing it in, he'd seen tutorials online, and hoped they'd work. After rubbing it in, he remembered he forgot to grab his brush, and used his fingers to comb his hair,

Mom had always hated that, said it made my skin look like a liz-

"Wait, no, stop it Manny, focus"
He closed his eyes for a second and tried to focus on the now, memories like that made him sad, he had always cried when his mom made comments like that, but, he got used to it, now, comments like that from anyone don't make him feel, well, anything. He opened his eyes and continued brushing, after doing so, he grabbed the bottle of water and poured it on his head, combing it through his head. He realized something as he shook his head around to get it dry, he forgot to bring conditioner, "Well, I guess she would need it" He always liked how his hair looked when it was wet, his mom didn't think so.
He grabbed the next bottle of dye and repeated the process.
