“It’s called moving on, Damon. I would know, I moved on years ago.” Stefan scoffed at his older brother, who was glaring at him. It had been at least a hundred years since Damon developed a deep hatred for his brother. The saying, ‘Forgive and Forget’ didn’t apply to Damon. Stefan on the other hand, believes in working things out. He’s tried multiple times to work things out, but Damon just refuses. Stefan doesn’t want to give up and lose his brother all over again… He was always trying to play nice… Maybe a little too nice. He gave Damon everything he wanted and desired, and Damon returned that with rudeness, and a nasty attitude.
Damon opened his mouth to speak, but before the words could come out, a beautiful brunette walked into the room. Both brothers turned to look at her and she greeted them with a warm smile. Damon’s face was hard, and indifferent. But on the other hand, Stefan brightened up and walked over to welcome her. “Hey Elena.” Stefan said as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. She hugged back immediately, smiling as she did so. Damon rolled his eyes and grabbed his glass that contained whiskey, and he walked past the couple.
“Elena.” He said as he walked past, deliberately brushing his hand across her lower back. Her breath hitched slightly but Stefan didn’t seem to notice. Damon grinned proudly to himself before he continued out of the room and up the stairs, trying to go somewhere that he’ll find peace. He arrived at his bedroom, and places his glass down on the nightstand. He sat down on his bed and sighed. He placed his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands.
He didn’t like his brother’s girl. She was too upbeat and peppy for him… But he liked the thought of stealing yet another one of his brother’s girls. He did it to him twice already, just to hurt him. But only once he actually liked the girl he stole. He thought back about her and smiles to himself. Rebekah. She wasn’t too fragile, she was tough, and that’s exactly what he liked in a girl. But she’s half way across the world now, and he can’t wait until he meets her again. But for now, he has to settle for ruining his brother’s life once more. Damon wasn’t going to get over this grudge anytime soon.
His train of thought was broken when he heard footsteps getting closer and closer to his room. He looked at the door and waited for them to walk in. The door opened and it revealed Elena, as pretty as ever. She looked at Damon and blushed slightly; she gave him a small smile before he got up from his bed and walked over to her; his famous smirk spread across his lips.
“Can I help you?” He kept walking closer to her and he saw the look of fear in her eyes… But she wasn’t scared of him, he knew that. She was breathing heavily as he stood just inches away from her. She gulped and kept her eyes locked on his. “Uh, uh... S-Stefan wanted to know if you’re going to go out today.” She managed to choke out. He chuckled as he raised his hand and trailed his fingertips across her bottom lip, careful not to make any sudden movements.
“What I do is none of Stefan’s business… Isn’t that right, Elena?” He asked. She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out, so she just nodded instead. She held his breath as he came closer. He knew what she wanted, even though she was involved with her brother. He moved his hand back down and grabbed her waist, tugging her against him quickly. She gasped and he smiled. He tilted his head and leaned in closer to her. His breath hit her lips and she stood perfectly still… He brushed his lips against hers and her eyes closed slowly. But he didn’t kiss her… He just grinned and pulled back, walking back over to his bed.
“Tell Stefan that I’ll be going to the bar later today.” He said; his back turned to her. She stared at him in disbelief and she started to turn to head back out the door when she heard his voice again. “Oh, and Elena?” She looked back at him, and he was facing her again, smirking. He continued, “Have a good day at school.” She smiled slightly and nodded, before leaving the room.
